Looks good. I think the head is the only eXtreme part that is not on mine. I am thinking of getting it, as well as the M24 blades as I hate how the helis balloons in the wind. Also if I get going fast enough it becomes super upstable and wants to flare up or even pitch to the side.

Yeah that is why I went with a stiffer head and wood blades. Plus the blades have less pitch and give me more headspeed.

I was looking at a discussion where a guy wanted to use a ducted fan tail and gave a link to HeliHobby and it has a metal center hub for a Hummingbird listed. I'm not sure if it would fit, but most other Hummingbird parts do:

If you have a question or you want us to size stuff up just give us a call and we will be happy to do so.

I want to warn you that with my Walkera 4#1 I bought a cnc rotor hub and then I broke blade grips and bent main shafts instead. So if you are upgrading make sure it is for the look. :D

Am i missing something with the blade grip? The head pops off all the time.

I went through a LOT to get HeliDirect to put an Exteme head on Ebay for me so I could use a gift certificate I got. After a month of that BS, the head doesn't fit worth a crap. It seems as if the ring like push rods hold the head on more than the fit of the bearings into the middle insert of the Extreme head. I've hear similar reports from others who have it. It doesn't take much for the head to pop off on one side.

I am going to be replacing my main gear and shaft and the Walkera #4 gear and shaft are recommended because they have a flat on the bottom where the main gear is held in position by a set screws rather than a pin that adds slop. It also has a flat on the top where the pin goes through. The question was whether that flat interacted with a flat on the inside of the hub or not. If it did, the torque would be transmitted by those flat surfaces rather than a skinny, soft pin. IMHO, that's the way to go IF it didn't break something more substantial or expensive in return. The reason to change these compnents is to eliminate some of the slop that develops over time. :(

I ended up sending it back today. I'm going to build something to reinforce the stock head.

The main gear has a set screw on a flat. We need to measure the height of the main shaft. I will PM you the length on Monday.

I think the shaft makes the head sit at a different height though but you might could just change link. Depending on the length of the guide slot on your anti-rotation as this is the distance the swash may travel and rememver at an angle the swash guide pin is higher or lower respectively.

I built a custom HeliFever 300 FP compy frame with a Walkera 36 tail belt drive along with an ARC80 brushless motor + CC10. Flies nicely but I don't fly it much anymore.

I installed the Walkera gear and shaft. I increased the flat on the bottom of the shaft so the set screw can engage it up higher. That allowed me to drop the .400" down below the gear. It just hangs down there, no problem. I also got the center hub. It has a flat surface inside it that corresponds to the flat on the shaft. It will transmit the torque instead of the stupid soft pin. It also lines evereything up so the pin goes right in.

There has been a discussion on another forum about using the Walkera 4G1b metal upper end in a HBFP or a Guru Z build. There is a kit available for $45. No offense to those who have and like the Extreme parts, but I think the rotor head is crappy because it doesn't fit properly. I've also read of enough trouble with the 380 motor that I'm not going there either. I may go for the 4G1b parts or maybe even the whole heli. It's popular in other places, but not in the US.
