So I've done my first few autos and I've had some pretty hard bounces in the grass. Everything looks pretty good. Is the heli built to take this kind of abuse?

That would depend on how hard the bounces really are. but as long as the skid braces are still in one piece, you should be OK.

Yep, it should be able to take a bounce or two if they're not too hard.
I actually had one saturday where the heli danced around on the skids a bit, it wasn't a smooth landing. Luckily the rotor disc did not hit the ground:D
I guess I should not be trying my first autos with V-blades.... I did I think 4 autos that day and they were mostly non-events, I should be able to do them eyes-closed with a pair of Radix or Align blades now...:)

I had a forced auto Tue. morning with my raptor ( too much fun factor and not enough fuel :DOH) and it made VERY FIRM contact with several bounces and a very loud crunchy noise but after an extensive inspection not a thing wrong :) I have done the same with the trex several times with no damage yet either
