two of my friends have trex 600's and one is very new. well the my friend travis(the guy with the newest 600) went the expensive route and got some pricey futaba head servos as opposed to my friend dan who had bought hi-techs for his. and while I don't know the different specs for each type of servo I noticed immediatly that travis's expensive futabas were crazy fast compared to dans hi-techs. now originally i went the cheap route and bought the hs82mg servos but after seeing his speed irealized thats exactly what I want as my heli seems to flip kinda slowly. so what I want to know is what servos should I be using for my head to get the fastest speed but while still having plenty of torque for the job.

FYI you are asking this in the t-rex 500 forum not 600 however,, as stated the JR 8717 is super fast and strong, especially on 8.4 volts. :YeaBaby:

No no I just mentioned the 600's because thats when I saw such a huge difference in speed but I personally have a five hundred I was just wondering if I can get anything that may be as fast as what he had in his 600. sorry for the mis-communication

So, you need equally fast servos for your T-rex 500, and not for a 600?
(The servos from a 600 does not fit a 500)

yeah I understand this entirely I'm just saying his servos made me jealous and I want something equal in speed and power or close to, for my 500

JR 3650,or JR 3517MG, they are the same both metal gear and the fastest strongest servos you can buy.
futaba makes good servos, much better than hitechs, but if you want the best JR is the only way to go.

if you want super fast cyclic servo's get the futaba 9257 its like lightning speed wise, not a great amount of torque but more than enough for a 500

no the 9257s will be slower than the Z3650s because of the lack of torque. they are rated at .01 faster with half the torque. plus the Z3650 are metal gear and the 9257s aren't. the Z3650s are definitely the ultimate cyclic servo for the 500.

Jason is most likely sponsored by Futaba. All his Futaba stuff is FREE.
Of course Jason uses Futaba. I would too !!
but.......I am spending my money, so I choose JR.
Funny indeed !

Faster servos wont make your flip rate faster. You need more cyclic pitch. I'm not sure why no one picked up on this and telling you to buy faster servos. Faster servos will let you initiate the flip faster and do things like pop and crack better.

exactly he is sponsored by futaba thats why he flies an overpriced gyro and not the best servos. if he was spending money he would by the Z3650s for the better performance and MG. you cant say "this guy flys these" if he is sponsored by that company. when an incredible pilot buys his own stuff you can say that, but not if they are sponsored by that manufacturer.

faster servos do greatly affect tick tocks, chaoses, and crack moves. the HS-82s.

Yea they do help with many manuvers but I found my flip rate was low and just needed to increase the cyclic throws.

yep if you think its slow, increase cyclic and/or headspeed.

Lets see a show of hands by all the folks that think that JK didn't have his choice of who was going to sponsor him.
This is the classic ford chebby dodge argument. Matter of opinion.
