I recently purchased a Fury with a 4000mah flat 4 cell lipo Duralite battery and regulator for the receiver. At Duralite's website it states to use only Duralite chargers which charge at 400mah. Can I use my Orbit Microlader Pro that I use for other lipos set to 4 cells at 400mah to charge it? Appreciate any help that can be provided.

The Orbit will charge the packs but you will not have any warranty. The 4000 is a redundant pack and you actually have 2 paks running parrallel with 2 cells in each. There is a charge safe circuit and a ballancing circuit. I keep it simply and just plug and play. I wish I could tell you whatt to set it at but I don't know. I would be carefull because it may see 1 2 cell pack with 4000mah. If you set it to 4 cells it would overcurrent I would think. Dont know how the charger works.

You can use any Li Ion rated charger thats capable of charging the correct amount of cells... Great Planes Triton, AstroFlight 109, Thunder Tiger 425, Apache 1500, 2500, Orbit, Schulze... all are IMO great and more then suitable for charging your duralite packs. They only warrenty their charger because it charges the pack at a set rate which you can't touch. The above chargers will let you charge at a safe rate, or go higher (althought I wouldn't really recommened it). I would rather use something like a Triton or Astro 109 with an LCD readout that tells you whats going on.

Do not set your charger for 4 cell or you will let all of the smoke and fire that was manufactured into the pack out. :arggg: :bomb:

Set your charger for 2 cell or 7.4V, and 400ma or .4A.

Flyinfool -- Good call.

The Duralite packs are wired 2s2p if I recall correctly. They are wired such that a single cell failure will not cause a voltage drop that kills the heli.

Or if you want to set it to 4 cells please video tape the charge cycle and post the vid.

Yes set the charger to 2 cell for charging the reciever packs. But that is one of the great features about the Duralite packs. They have the Safe Charge circuitry installed in the pack. So if the wrong type charger, or charger is set to incorrect specs. The Safe Charge circuitry will not allow any excess current or voltage get to the batteries.
Also there is Cell Balancer installed with the Safe Charge circuit. The cells will be charged equally each time.
