Stuffed my blade 400 after work today, Im still in hover but got a little to brave, went too high, I choked and augered in from about 45 feet up, Blades, flybar, mainshaft, canopy, But no taco my pack. I had finished my 550 on last sunday but the wind was blowing so i only spooled up on my deck and double checked everthing. So I went downstairs, grabbed the 550, spooled up, It lifted off great and is so stable compared to the 400. I had downloaded all the finless videos and the set up and mods paid off, no trims needed, YEE HA!. I want to thank bob and others who take the time to help newbies like myself get into the air, Thanks again.

glad to hear the 550 is a lot more stable.. you'll be flying around in no time... I know once I get my 550 I plan on using my 450 as a beater heli... you know... one that I abuse and crash while trying out new stuff... cheaper to fix :D

Sorry to hear about the blade.:(I have a belt CP that I use for practice of the ex*****ve tricks because normally the thing ends up in the dirt.:DOHBut same as you, I pull out the
trusty 550 and I soon forget about the damage to the belt:YeaBaby:.3 Times the heli,5 Times more stable and 10 times more "YEHAWWW" factor.

I woke up this morning and remembered that i had not switched my gyro mode into head hold, (smart lock on the csm sl560) when i switched over from the blade to the hurri in my dx6i. does that make sense?. So i'll charge up today and check that mode out. The great thing about these new radios is downloading in another model in just seconds, Ive been out of r/c for 10 years and only flew fixed wing and never had radios like this! :happyd

Congrats on the Maiden

I too jumped from a flighty little 400 to the hurricane and i couldnt belive the difference

so stable and easy to fly in comparison

I became too confident too quickly and then stuffed it trying to do a slow piroete too close to the ground!

Watch your confidence and dont run before you can walk or you will learn the hard way like me!

Good luck and happy flying

Thanks for the heads up wazzer, I flew the hurri for the second time today, i can see forgetting all about the 400 less the fact i have boxes of rebuild parts for it, i just need the jr servo set and a couple of hours to put it back together. At lease i have as much fun building as i do flying. This big bird is something else though, only drag is flying time vrs charging time, cheers, Rick:thumbup:
