Hmmm, after playing with the Airwolf in creator and exporting the model, this happened!

Yea, you have to turn off the transparent aluminum option to show the entire model.

I sent it off to Phoenix support and got this today
Hi Andy
Thank you for reporting this issue, we have passed it to our programming team and hope to have it fixed very soon.
Best Regards
Phoenix Support
Strange thing is that the standard livery works fine, its just the variant made with creator. Quite a bug I think!
Do Phoenix not have a UAT team? There seems to be a problem with everything they release lately. Its great to have updates and models free, but if only they worked right before they get released
Andy
They call it BETA for a reason Andy.

Fair enough, but remember a BETA is a limited release of a product already alpha tested with the intention of finding bugs before full release. A BETA is limited to selected customers, I dont see Runtime doing this, it is published on their homepage for unrestricted use and therefore it's a public release.
I still love Phoenix, but they do seem to have a recent history of publishing software that could have had more extensive UAT before public release.
What you have reported here is a SMALL bug with the PhoenixCreator program - not with the simulator at all - and they already told you that they would fix it ASAP.
Alpha testing is for core issues - beta testing is for SMALL bugs (like this one).
This PhoenixCreator program looks like a very large amount of work, all released for FREE - have you seen any other simulator company do the same?
I suggest you stop moaning about little issues like this one and instead provide some useful contribution.
A BETA is limited to selected customers, I dont see Runtime doing this, it is published on their homepage for unrestricted use and therefore it's a public release.
This isn't exactly true. There are often multiple phases of beta, often a closed and an open phase. Closed beta is limited to selected customers. Open beta is generally available to the world at large. Look at gmail for example. It's still in beta after several years...

I'm not moaning but I wanted to open discussion on the fact that several recent releases have proven buggy.

The fix is out and it works, its a fix for the main program, not creator. Must have been some campatibility issues with the files exported from creator I guess.
Thanks Runtime, all is now good
Glad that's sorted Frog - and reporting these things to the developer is extremely important (though I dont think the forums is the right place for it).
I think the general issue is that major games companies can afford warehouses full of QA staff, and even then they still get things wrong (this has happened many times lately with AAA titles).
As long as the version on your CD-ROM performs as expected then free update released cannot really be criticised. I would prefer a constantly improving program to them "playing it safe" and simply leaving things as they were.

Thery sure fixed it fast and I think its probably finding medium ground between releasing lots of regular updates to drive the application forward, and what could be months of testing and tweaking.
The regular and free updates from Runtime are one aspect that is clearly driving this sim to the top of the heap and no doubt frustrating the competition! This is as much for the benefit of Runtime as the end user of the product.
Now all I need to ask for is multiple platform support :YeaBaby:
