I bought a new Evo and a Hyper 50 yesterday. Got it from Keith at Wilsons RC Hobbies in Kennett, MO (573)888-9223. He's just started carrying the Hirobo line and will be stocking parts. Anyone in MO, AR and IL should be able to get parts in 2-3 days for regular mail or UPS prices. He's also a Raptor and JR dealer and a great guy to deal with.

One odd thing was, all he could get was an ARF and it came as a Scedeau and another bag-o-stuff that upgraded it to an Evo. Otherwise I'd have had to wait till sept for a kit. I guess I'll be able to make a heck of a deal to someone for the xtra Scedeau parts once I get it assembled.

I seems to remember I saw a Fury bouncing around one day, landing on everything BUT the skids... I wonder what that was about?

I didn't even buy a crash kit for this one. I didnt want to jinx it, and besides, he didnt have one in stock...

I hope that you can make the trip to IRCHA. It will be worth the time and effort. Plus Keith needs a crowd to cheer him on in the drags.

This is odd. I started converting the ARF to the evo and it seems alot of the parts in the "bag-o-evo-stuff" are identical. The frames look the same, and the electronics tray looks identical. Also the lower mainshaft bearing block on the arf is blue metal, the one in the bag is plastic and the measurements are identical so I used the metal. Kinda weird that they'd send new frames yet I had to remove the fuel tank grommit and install into the bigger tank.

The new tank is bigger and the linkages are different as well as some of the head parts.

The big change in the EVO is the percentage of graphite in the plastic mix. they were able to make it much stiffer, there fore stronger. this is why you have parts that "look" the same, the composition is different though.

I REALLY got to looking at it last night and found some canopy mount tabs that werent on the original. Got me worrying about using that metal bearing block instead of the plastic.

Very confused.

Guess thats an inside joke. He was ragging on me about the need for keeping
spare parts. I've seen him crash his Fury, but he's never seen me crash anything. Not that I havent crashed, I just do it when I'm alone and nobodys looking....

I saw it fly. Looked pretty good too! That hands off inverted hover was fantastic, first time I've seen that done.

I'm still twiddling with mine though. That reciever I got last weekend is the wrong band so Keiths swapping me out. I robbed one of the Stingers rx and am setting up now. Should be in the air this weekend.

BTW Gary, where are you staying for the Mount Pleasant Funfly? I was looking at Travelocity and theres a few choices open.
Got all my Evo linkages hooked up. You were SO right when you said follow the diagram. This has got to be the easiest setup ever.

Did you hook up the throttle push/pull or single link? Seems you could go either way on the Evo 50.
