View Full Version : Duplicating Model Program?

Would like to duplicate my present program to Model #. Example: my present program is #2 MT325, would like another similar program @ #5 MT325 so I may adjust, play with different settings and try it on the heli. BUT every time I copy from #2 to #5, I Bind #5 , it bind’s and the heli responds to the #5 Model, BUT when I go back to #2 the heli will not respond to the old settings. I’ve read in the manual that when you copy one Model to another, the previous model loses all information? Now the copied one works but the original dose not?
Trying to grasp the workings of the TX.
Thanks group for your patience.

Ok, ModelMatch is a function that makes ur Rx recognize only 1 model that it is binded to.. So in case u have a wrong model selected while powering up the Rx, the Rx will not respond to any inputs from the Tx because its not on the same model its being binded to..

This is a very brief explanation.. All in all, 1 Rx 1 model memory..

Refering to my original post what I am requesting is it possible to copy the same program , MT325SE to another place for trying out different aim points?
EX: My original is #1 MT325SE would like to send copy to #5 MT325SE , bind this so the Rx would recognize this program, and still have the original #1 working when called upon.
Possible???

To-date my research says= you must bind one of the 2 programs for the Rx to activate the program, you cannot have 2 programs of the same heli????
Hope someone can confirm or explain my question.
Is there a expert in this forum?
I keep trying.

Cym,

I think you're trying to do exactly what I am. After Gary O. set up my TX for throttle/pitch etc. the first time, he saved it in memory #1 Then, he duplicated it to mem #2 for backup. Now, as my skills improve I want to increase my swash throws so I increased them on mem #2 so I could try it and go back to #1 if I wanted.

What I've found is that you can only bind 1 receiver to one memory position (which makes sense) so if you want to use a different model memory postion (and settings) you have to re-bind the mini-Titan each time you want to use that position.

Great to hear from you, you're right on with the Model Match.

Hey Cym!

I fly at the dome Sat nights because I fly in a huge school gym on fri afternoons. I do plan on going the last 2 Sat nights at the dome though if you're going.

There are a bunch of guys that fly heli's together in West Dundee at a huge park (and I plan to join them) and a Heli only RC field in Addison that I will be checking out but I will mostly be going to Busse Woods RC field and some huge retention areas (30+ feet below ground level) in the Arl Hts area.

Cym-

You can easily copy a model profile to another slot.

For a DX-7

Go into your model setup mode, then in that first screen where it says [Model Select], when the cursor is on SELECT, hit your "select" button once to change to "COPY". Where the cursor is on the screen, the word will change from SELECT to COPY, and MODEL 2 will appear in the bottom half of the screen. Use the "adjust" scroller on the right to choose a free model slot. Once you find your free model slot, use the "clear" button on the right to copy your current model slot to the new model slot. It will have the same name, so I usually go in and add -BU to the new copied model profile.

Then you can futz around with your existing model, and if you don't like it, switch to the backup profile and copy it back to your first one. Additionally, the transmitter holds EVERYTHING, so you can easily bind your receiver to different model profiles. You cannot use two different profiles to control the same receiver, but you can rebind to different profiles to manually give you that.

Clear as mud? Piece of cake? Let me know.

Thank you, good explaination.
1)I gather you must bind the Rx when using the alternate copied model?
BTW it has been awhile since I heard the term 'futz', hehehe.

Totally, if you want to use that profile to fly, you have to bind it to a receiver.

Haha right on. I have kind of an odd vocabulary.
