Well Well Well ... Lipos scare me :o
so am trying to figure them out, am using a Super Brain 989, and I have 2 Lipos:
2S 4000 mAh batt
3S 1300 mAh batt
Questions If you may:
1. the Super Brain has a C and D settings for Volts, any Idea what are those? If not then:
2. Whats the Max lowest volt I should disrchage my Lipo to? should I discharge to 3 Volts max or go higher to be safe?
3. Thanks Alot for your time and support.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I too have a Superbrain charger and had to dump it. They are known to be dangerous for charging LiPos since they are peak chargers rather than constant current/constant voltage chargers. They will overcharge and damage your precious LiPo's! It's just not worth the risk of burning your house down, not to mention destroying expensive batteries. I got a Triton Jr. and it works great. Look at question three from this apogee link...

I have the SuperBrain 969, but they all use the same principle for charging. That's why the Apogee site does'nt specify, instead they say MRC must change their schema, or method of charging. Some folks say you can use it if you monitor the voltage closely, but I personally don't think its worth it. Do a search around the threads for SuperBrain and you'll see some other posts on it, I found a few which helped me decide. Good luck and enjoy the hobby!

MO, If lipo's scare you, then lipo's + Superbrain = Terror LOL
Seriously.......take a look at some of the other chargers available. If your not charging more than 4 cells the FMA direct Cellpro 4S charger is priced right, and is very safe, quick, and accurate.

yeah i started out with the superbrain 989 and i noticed that when i would finish a pack and check it with a voltmeter they would usually be a little high. i stopped worrying about it though when one day at the field the charger decided it had enough charging one of my little 3s2100mah packs and let out some serious smoke. i now have two tp1010c's combined with 210 balancers and have never looked back.

Doesn't matter if you're charging 1 cell, you'd better sit down next to it (not too closely) and watch the screen for the 45 minutes or whatever it takes and turn it off manually. THEY WILL EXPLODE and start a fire. Be sure to get a charging bag or make a brick shelter to contain any fire. I think most everyone here speaks from experience! Take a look.

yep it is the only charger i have ever owned that would make the lipos warm up while charging them.
