I intend to use 6S LiPo packs (3700mAh now, and larger packs later) for my Logo 500 3D, but I have many 2500mAh packs already for my Trex-500. Would it be a bad idea to use these smaller packs for basic flight with the Logo? (Hovering, forward flight, beginner 3D)

I will be using:

Logo 500 3D with flybar
Hacker A40-10L 8 pole motor
550mm Blades
Pheonix 80 ESC
BEC with all digital servos at 6V
14T Pinion

I am thinking the only problem using these packs would be short flight time (?)
As long as I make sure not to allow the cells to drop too low, is this a bad idea?

2500 is cutting it close and won't give you a long flight time. Maybe you can fit them in parallel?

At my flying style (mild 3D) you would get 4.5 mins for a 2000mAh draw - however the heli can draw 80A of current which may overstretch the current supplying capability of your lipos

Hey,

I personally wouldn't fly the 2500s in a Logo500. They are too small for it in my eyes. They would be good for Logo 400, but for a Logo 500 I would say even 3700mah 6s packs are on the limit.

We're running 6s 5000 EVO25s in our Logo 500s. I have to say we fly them rather hard and the max currents are up to 125A-135A easily.

Have a nice Sunday and take care

You could run them in 6S2P, which should be fine.

If you run (2) of them together in parralel that is the only way,, to avoid wrecking them, 2500mah is to small of a lipo for a heli this size period.

Wow - I hadn't even realized I could fit 2 of those packs! That is one deep battery tray!

So, all I need to do is make a parallel connector.

Thanks!

Of course you can, it's the same frame as the Logo 600, meaning you can fit up to about 12S 5350's in it.
