i crashed on first blade 400 hover. no big deal. but when i rebuild feathering shaft and grip it was hard to rebuild because it looked like parts were missing. seems the factory left out a race on each side. anyone have any experience like this?

also, 4 emails to eflite have produced no response. i did talk to a gentleman and told him i offered to send in a picture to tech. service to view and i was told that that was not neccessary. i talked to this gentleman on thursday and no response on friday. i would like to give him the benefit of the doubt and wait a few more days.

i did sugest to him that my inexperience at 3D flight had contributed to the crash but missing parts probably did also. i offered to send him this bird and for him to send me a new one -- with feathering shaft inspected before shipping to me.

 probably won't happen and i doubt i will get any reponse at all

What parts are missing? Another post titled Shims has an exploded photo of the parts (except for the shims, which sit on the right in this pic just before the orings)

Maybe I got the extra parts you were missing? I had 2 #20 step washer on each side (4 total) in my B400. Needless to say it was a real handful when I first tried to fly it.

I replaced the O-rings with fuel tubing and used the spacers to get the stiffness in the head I wanted. I got it to where it just start to get notchy and I backed off a washer on each side. With the fuel tubing the blade grips can still flex, but it's a lot stiffer and more responsive than it was before.

I dont have a 2nd 17 or 27 - goes straight from thrust bearing to bearing in grip and on the other side inbetween 20 & 25 I have 3 shims.

The shims are normal, the number installed will vary.

Check and make sure the missing thrust bearing race isn't still inside the blade grip. When I disassemble mine the inner race of the thrust bearing usually remains stuck in the grip. It's easy to look in there and think you are looking part number 16.

nope not there - I had to replace a grip and pull the bearings out to put in the new grip.

Even watching the head set-up at blade400repair.com - he doesnt show a 2nd 17 either.

Your right LockMD I don't have 2nd 17 also, and I have 3 shims in between 20-25 as well.

Not good guys. You might want to get the replacement thrust bearing s and rebuild the head correctly. BTW, the 2 thrust washers have different sized holes. One is tight on the feathering shaft and the other is loose. The loose one goes on first. Also, put the open side of the thrust bearing to the inside. That way it will hold the grease you put in it better.

Well that's they way mine came and it exactly how it is in the film here: http://blade400repair.com/

With the exception of me adding a 3rd washer, haven't had any problems with the head at all so I will be leaving mine as is.

Skigolfmike maybe I will try fixing mine. If I put another #17 in there I will take a one shim or two out coz it will tighten it. And this is the perfect time to change my o-rings also, maybe the hardened damper o-rings of align would work, any suggestions.
