Hi there, because i had another 6100G servo lying around after repairing the gears, i wanted to place also the 6100 Gyro at first but i was not able to find it without the servo. So thats the moment when i decided to get a spartan Gyro because its supported.Ok so now for the real storry. I got a hughe tailwag ....amazingly and sometime it even pushes to one side and then correct again.

So in short its not flyable at all. I got the metal plate and 2 layers of the mounting foam on it so this should not be the issue. But i guess that the prob is that i have the gyro mounted upfront and i guess thats now motor vibrations and such.

Anyone got a spartan DS 760 on its knight? Any help?

Greetings

I run the sparten on mine. Also mounted in the front, not on the battery tray. I instllad the gyro plate on the front and have it mounted there. I have no issues with it mounted there at all. Make sure you tail control rod is moving very very free. Loosen up all the guides and let them center on the control wire and then retighten them. Sounds to me to be a binding issue, check the tail grip control links as well. They have been known to be tight as well somtimes. Most of all make sure you have the right servo setup in the gyro.

the 6100g is a pretty terrible servo imo, mine died quite quick and had an issue with increasing the limits beyond a certain point the servo just switched off.

19mm horn on the 3d with a little right offset then let for 40degs left and 45degs right pitch then about 50% gain and it will work great.

Well thanks for you replies. I dont think that it is binding, because i tested on the field and then added some grease to see if it changes. Also the servo is not binding at all. I set the gyro for 2 flashes. If i get it right on the manual this is correct for the logictech.

I mean i dont got a problem to change the servo if this solves the problem but i dont see why the servo should be the problem when my 600N works fine with same servo but logitech gyro.

But what i did not mentioned so far was the fact that i have a bad muffler on the machine at the moment. Something that was delivered wih a gohbee i had a while ago. Do you thing that maybe some strange exhausting problem could issue that tailwag?

I try to take a movie next time on the field but rain is coming.

tail wag is probaly a washer missing in one of the hubs- the really small washer. - hunting could be due to its trying to compensate for the tail wag

Have you tried lowering the gain? Because the 6100 works with a certain value it does not mean that the same value works the same for all gyros; they operate different internally. As long as the tail holds keep going down and the the wag stops.

I think i will try the 9254 servo on it before i try to move the gyro to the back of the heli. I had one crash with that servo and did exchange the gears but maybe something inside is bad. What distance from the servo center do you use to mount the linkage ball on the 9254?

Update. I just installed the 9254 and cleaned everything from dust/sand and i think that this will solve it. Now waiting for nice weather then making the test. The gears inside the removed Logitech don’t sound correct to me but maybe i am wrong. I will inspect that also. I'll keep info posted for other people having probs.

the knight tail linkage is quite low mechanical gain so you need a 19mm horn with the spartan.

I fly mine at about 14mm arm. works very well.

Just like to say that the problem is solved. After cleaning everything and replacing the Logitech 6100 Servo with a S9254 everything works as expected. Damn! What a heli!.
