Hello all,

Trying to set-up my the tail servo and 401 gyro on my TREX-500 and I'm finding that the connectors from the 401 will not fit into the male receptors on the AR7000 rudder and gear inputs. The connectors from the 401 have a small tab that will not allow them to fit into the RX. I've not seen this problem mentioned in any of finless Bob's videos or anywhere else.

does anyone know what's the deal with this?

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

The Gy401 uses Futaba connectors and the AR7000 uses JR connectors. As you have found out, they are almost identical. You can simply cut the small flange off the Futaba connector which will allow the connetor to plug in to the AR7000. I use an AR6100 which has a more flexible case which allows the connetors to plug in with a little effort. Once you cut the tab off, make sure you plug the connector in correctly (black wire to the bottom of the receiver I believe) because you will be able to plug it in backwards.

yep...cut the tabs off.

i use an exacto...couple of scores down the edge of the tab and it will come cleanly off. i've heard other people using a dremel.

whatever works. but, you gotta de-tab it.

Thanks guys!

First time with this stuff. Just wanted to make sure before I trimmed them off.
