View Full Version : Almost distaster Today!!!

Haven't flown in about 3 weeks, & after fixing my motor & other things, I get to the field & their's a guy needing help with his set up with his Trex 450. So I spent 30-40 min set'n him all up instead of fly'n myself First.

When it was my turn to fly, I spooled up, lifted off the ground 4' & lost the Tail!!:wow2:
I can't belive what I did next on pure impulse,, I climbed up about 30' & threw it into TH & Landed spinning around with NO Damage facing Nose end!!!:banana

My ball link was worn out on my Rudder servo & the Link fell off :thumbdown:

I was so proud of myself for doing what I had imagined in a tail loss so close to the ground, & it Worked!!!:Bang:cheers:woot
You never know how your gonna react no matter how many times you think about it!

I think helping out a new Guy gave me good Karma!!:YeaBaby:
This was the best my 3D has ever flown & using a cyclic ring I could not make her bog AT ALL!!!:thumbup:

Hey John, you should be pumped about this event rather than the subdued boring story of what happened -- may I suggest using some of those little "emoticons" next time to help jazz up your story !!! -Just kiddin John, glad to hear you got the chopper on the ground and in one piece.

Wow great reaction. I have a small additon as well. I was flying with my Rex600 because of my tailwag prob on the knight and in mid air with no forward speed it sound like "BAAAANG" and the motor stops. Puh ...TH and autorotation. The first one...and success.. it feels so good if you do the right thing. I can really understand how you feel :-) Checkout the photo, its right right after my 1st forced auto. I guess you feel the same adrenalin rush :-)
