I have had this EXACT same thing happen on two different CX helis. First time was the CX2 and it was suggested it could have been a "Gremlin".

Well yesterday it happened with my CX heli. It was flying with the wind and at a good pace. I pulled back on the stick and made a right hand turn. All at once it just fell out of the sky like a shot DUCK. It smacked the ground hard and tore all kinds of stuff up. I was too disgusted to check it out in-depth right then but I feel like it was either blade strike or possible rotor stall.....
Has anyone else seen this?

Very common for Co-axial heli's, they can't handle FFF or wind. What happens is the upper and lower blades actually hit each other while in flight....and you know what happens!

Sounds like I need to upgrade to the extended head assy doesn't it?
What' are others using and why? :)

Sounds like you need to upgrade to a Collective Pitch Helicopter, save the CX for rainy days inside. Can you hover nose-in yet?

Well actually yeah. I've gotten pretty good at just about anything I want to do. I can hover nose-in, tail-in, side-in..... I can fly forward, backward, side-ways.... land and take-off from just about anywhere. Heck maybe this is bragging but I can take off and land again on my deck handrail from any direction except side-ways and almost there.
Yeah maybe I should upgrade to a CP heli but I have a very bad "Taste in my mouth" after I bought a pair of Balde CP's and couldn't get them to fly worth a hoot. I actually bought one... crashed it.. repaired it.. crashed it... repaired it... over and over until I couldn't get it to hover any more. then I bought another one.... I finally decided (after some advice of a fellow heli-dood ) to sell them as a package deal on Ebay while they were still flyable. These heli's were flying out of the box and I was hovering immediately. Maybe I'm over confident but I'm thinking maybe it IS time to upgrade. I'm honestly looking HEAVILY into a Concept-X heli.
I do want to upgrade my CX some more so what head assembly do I need to get? :)
