What is the most 3D capable 50 size heli available now?
I currently have a Raptor 50 and am looking for a second heli. I was considering the Hirobo Sceadu Evo but now I have begun looking at the Tiger 50. I am a new flyer and I am certainly not ready for 3D yet, but if I buy something new I want something that will challenge me for a long time rather than buy something that I will want to replace in a year.
Any information will be appreciated.

Hi Cliff,
We are having a lot of good luck with our Gohbee Stinger 50's also. Nice inexpensive choice to learn 3D on. I am about a 1.5D'er myself !! hehehee It works great for me. Check out the website. If you decide to buy one, use my rep code and get another 7% off your purchase price. The Stinger 50 is a good heli, not just saying that because I'm a rep. Inexpensive to buy, fly and rebuild !

Thanks Charlie,
I will add it to the list to be considered. My Raptor has been good to learn on and I certainly don't intend to put it away. I just have the fever for a new "Toy" and thought I would get something a little more advanced.

Well the Tiger 50 does have CCPM and upgrades (in the box) to make it a good 3D machine. Add good servos, paddles and blades and your set. The parts are cheap and I bought it to learn 3D. My Rappy 60 is to much $$$ to wack down every weekend :(

Thanks for the input Dan. I had pretty much decided on the Sceadu when I heard about the Tiger 50. Now I have to make a decision. I wish I could see the Tiger up close before I make a decision, but I don't know if that will be possible. Of course I am not being forced to make a decision quickly, I just like to do something when I get the urge (and the money). :D

Nice pics. Who does your graphics?
My wife does vinyl graphics as a side business and she just did her first canopy for my Raptor. I have a pic of it in my gallery. She mainly does outdoor graphics like you see on the windows of pickup trucks and some business signs, but she would like to start doing some heli stuff too. I plan on keeping her busy with mine at least!

Bayou Talker,
You won't be disapointed with the Tiger 50, it's a well put together heli.
Very stable, even with the 3D upgrades. And it will still do more than I'll ever be able to do. Check out the video of Marcus Kim at the Audacity web site.
My only complaint is with the brittle tail feathers, I saw yesterday that there is a carbon upgrade now :). The other plus with the Tiger 50, if you need something quick or you have a problem, Audacity Models is right in FL, and John Beech (the owner) will take care of it. And he will work with your local shop to help them become dealers.

I have seen the Marcus Kim video and that is partly what has me looking at the Tiger 50. I have also seen some posts from John Beech that would seem to impress me that he is really serious about customer service. It is definitely a heli I am considering.
As for the local dealers, I have at least an hour drive away from ANY dealer and none of the ones in this area are really interested in helis. They will order parts if you need them or sell you a kit but they do not stock much of anything in parts and accessories. The best bet to get your heli back in the air quickly here is Heliproz or Rick's.

Hey Cliff,
Believe me, all the small heli companies like John Beech (Tiger) and David Ellison (Gohbee) are serious about customer service. They have a ton of money invested in their products and need to be very customer oriented. This is a big plus when you buy from a company like these..... they need and want your business.
I think you will find first class service with both products.

Charlie,
I have also heard good things about Gohbee. That's what is making my decision difficult and why I am trying to get opinions from more experienced pilots.

I was considering the Hirobo Sceadu Evo
The Evo is a lovely heli, I used to own one. If you do purchase an Evo then install CX dampers, they will transform the heli into that 3D capable machine that you are looking for. :)
