I currently have two batteries, a Maxamps 6S 5000 at 700g and an Xcite 6S 5000 at 780 grams. I bought these because I got a pretty good deal on them. I wasn't really worried about the weight difference until I saw in another post about using Align canopies would add extra weight that would affect performance.

Will this much difference in battery weight make a big difference in performance? Maybe when I start flipping the heli around, but how about with just "normal" flying? I haven't flown the Xcite battery yet because I haven't been able to get more than one flight in a sitting.

Should I bite the bullet now and get rid of the Xcite (since it's still new) and get another Maxamps or perhaps an EVOlite 5350? I didn't buy one of them initially because of the cost.

Thanks.
Ken

80g shouldn't won't be a big deal for normal flying. Anytime you add weight you will affect performace, especially weight out at the front from a battery. It's extra swinging weight essentially and depending on how much can be felt. It may be acceptable, unoticable, or not from pilot to pilot. Fly em and decide for yourself but I highly doubt you would notice at this point.

One thing i'd consider since i've never seen either of those batteries is whether or not they physically fit. Battery dimensions are all different and I've heard the 6S5000 AirThunder and Kong Powers don't fit in the frames. Also make sure you will have pinion clearence.

Thanks. They definitely fit. That's one reason I chose them. Decent cost and they fit well. The Xcite is a bit larger than the Maxamps as well. Seems a little strange that's it's physically larger and weighs considerably more since they are the same amp and C rating.
