when you slide the flybar out and those dam little copper washers come out,,any tricks on getting these puppies back on?..and i also flew it without them and didnt notice anything,is this bad?..thanks all.
This will be my first post here. I'm Jerry, an old fart and new to helis (December) and all I've done so far here is read and learn. Wow, I get to help someone...........
Here's what I did when I faced the same problem. Take a piece of the blue painters masking tape (less sticky), cut a strip about as wide as the diameter of the tiny washer and about an inch long. At the very end of the strip, sticky side up, press the flat side of the washer onto the tape. The step side should be facing up, this goes toward the bearing. Now is where you could use a third hand, but I managed ok with a little finger maneuvering. Line up the flybar cage with the see saw holder that goes through the head, and test for getting the flybar started to help line up. Once aligned, hold it steady with one hand while with the other grab the straightened piece of tape with washer facing the cage bearing and slide it carefully between the two pieces. Now, when approximately lined with the hole in the bearing, transfer the grip to a finger or two of the other hand while you start the flybar through. You'll be able to see it start into the washer. Hold the flybar firmly against the tape while you slide the tape up and out. Repeat on the other side, but this time with the step side of the washer stuck to the tape so that it also faces the bearing on the other side.
I would guess that it would be best to fly it with the washers as they separate the bearing races from the plastic parts.
Good luck, and I hope this helps.
Jerry

Yeah Lock, that's the only way to do it when just replacing the flybar. Whoanelly asked how to get them back on, and my tip was for that, after I had removed and replaced a damaged cage assy.:)
