View Full Version : Digital Servo Noise

Is it normal to hear some buzzing noise (binding?) from digital servos used for cyclic?

My links are all measured out right, and I have zero pitch, but my servos sound like they are binding while sitting at zero - if I move the collective pitch up to max they get quiet. I don't have any blades on yet, so there is no weight pulling on them.

With the links from the servos to swash removed, they make NO noise.
I notice it takes very little pressure on the servo arm to get the noise.
Should they remain quiet at all times?

If yes, any ideas on what I should be looking to adjust?

(I am using Futaba 9452 servos, by the way)

I believe my problem was due to bent guiding pins for the yoke (part MIK0912).

After removing them (for testing) the binding servo noises stopped.

So, either I need some new ones - or maybe I can straighten them out.

Totally normal for digital servos to chatter even on a completely free running head. No need to worry, just fly.

My 8717s' sound like mini chainsaws sitting there doing nothing, lol.

Interesting, i haven't put the blades and paddles on yet but without them my bls451's dont make any sound when the sticks are still, i was expecting to hear constant chatter.

My BLS451s are completely quiet with blades and through all pitch ranges.

Of course they are, they're brushless.... ;)
