I bought some RotorTech 515mm blades for my 500.
The root is 10mm. The grips measure about 11.5mm.
It doesn't look or feel right when you put the blade in with the space
between the blade and the grip.
Should I use some sort of spacer, to take up the space ?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I think if I remember, the grips are actually considered to be 14mm. They just tend to be slightly angled which means you must spread them apart. Measure them at the root and see if you don't come close to 14.
I think you would be wise to come as close as possible to that number with spacers, preferably top and bottom.

Its called a blades him or grip spacer, you need one 1mm one on each side of it by sounds of things, meaning one per grip. Most blades for 500 do not need this but some do. Pick a vendor, they all carry them,,,,

The Rotortech 516 blades come with them included - black discs at the top of the package - are you sure they weren;t in with the blades ?
