View Full Version : Can a CX2 3-in-1 work with a ppm receiver?

I recently noticed than my Blade CX2 had a spektrum AR6100E on it. I took it out to use it in one of my planes. I figured I could just swap it with an old four channel futaba TX & RX I had lying around. Problem is that the ESC won't arm. I get servo movements, but the 3-in-1 will just flash red, then green, over and over. I read in another post that the 3-in-1 requires the receiver to get a lock before it arms the ESC. Is there any way around this? Is the 3-in-1 only going to work with a spektrum receiver?
Thanks in advance.

Try reversing the throttle channel on your transmitter. Its not seeing "0" throttle so it won't arm.

Thanks for the reply.
I tried both normal and reverse with the trim all the way down and it still didn't arm.

Are you sure its plugged into the receivers throttle channel? and plugged in the correct way?

Yep. I checked it a bunch of times.
The servos are working fine so I know the ESC is connected properly because I'm getting BEC power.
I'm wondering if I need to change the 3-in-1 to one that was designed for a non-spektrum receiver.

Have you tried using trim to make the esc "See" a lower throttle value?

Yep.
Tried moving the trim on the throttle all the way down on both normal and reverse settings.

it should work, the original cx had fm radios, the new cx2 has Spektrum, other than that they are pretty much the same.
