Can anyone help I have just set up my ep200 with a hs45hb on the tail and a hh esky gyro. The problem is when I try to hover is spins round one way or the other, i.e. try to give it a bit of rudder to counter it and it just spins the other way?
I know the esky isn’t the best in the world but was hoping better than this? Or have I set it up wrong?
Any ideas? And if it’s the gyro that’s buggerd any ideas on a better one?
Thanks

Sounds like the gyro is reversed, so when you go one way, it adds on and goes more that way instead of trying to stop it from going in that direction. Reverse it :)

some servos throws are opposite others, i.e., hitec and futaba servos turn in opposite directions...you might need to flip your tail servo around and/or use the opposite side of the servo arm...give it a try...you won't make it any worse than it already is...lol...ken

The gyro is definitely reversed. The only way to change the direction of HH Esky gyro is by changing the way you have it mounted. If you mount if laying flat you will have problems. If you mount it on its side (in line with the tail boom) the gyro needs to be mounted in such a way that the connection pins for the tail servo are at the bottom of the gyro. Hope that makes sense. I used to use this gyro, mounted in the space behind the main shaft, and this is how I had to position it to get it to work correctly. Mount the gyro on edge so that the servo connection pins are at the bottom.

is the belt twisted the wrong way? tail blades on backwards
I used to have a belt cp with a HH esky on it, I take it you have mounted the gyro upright on the side? It will also matter which side you mount it, seem to remember the label writting should face backwards, If your having to give stick to correct the rotation the gyro isn't set up correctly in the first place, I think you need to go back to basics and get the tail servo in the correct position to start with. As a point the hh esky is a pretty bad choice for the ep200 I am currently using a very cheap telebee and both weight and size are perfect. ( oh the hh esky takes a while to initalise that blue light doesn't come on very wuick ).

is the belt twisted the wrong way? tail blades on backwards
hi,
everything runs clockwise when facing it:dontknow i have tried changing the position but its still doing it. if when spinning on the floor i give it full opposit direction it just starts spinning in that direction???????????????
what hapens if i reverse the rudder in the dx6i? will that changer the direction?
if you twist the ep200 to the left the servo arm pulls towards the heli, is that right??
thanks

Its been awhile since I went through the process of setting up this gyro and I can't remember if the rudder needed to be reversed or not. With the heli sitting on a table and the tail blades facing you, if you pull the tail towards you the tail pitch slider should move away from you and vice versa. Jad is correct that normally you would mount it so that the label faced the rear of the heli but you may not have a spot to mount it this way. The way I had it mounted was so that the label faced to the right (had said left earlier just realized it was facing right) of the heli when looking at it from the front. Also if you're using the sense wire from the gyro turn the gain all the way up on the gyro and use the dx6i gain setting to set up rate mode gain. I think I had my dx6 set for 60% gain. It works, you just haven't tried the right combination yet.

The tail rotor should spin anticlockwise, looking from the blade side of the rotor, with the leading edge of the blades coming up into the main rotor downwash. check your tail drive belt is correct

looking down from the top, the main blades should be spinning clockwise. the tail blades should spin counter clockwise when you are looking at them from the blade side of the tail. sounds like you need to change the rotation of the tail blades.
