I am fairly new to this but i don't know where to begin with this one. The other day I was hovering my heli and it would make small jumps of about 3 inches and once it jumped while hovering over a foot. My father-in-laws heli has done the same thing resulting in a crash. Our thought was radio interference. So I took the heli elsewhere and the same thing happened. I have not noticed any binding in the throttle linkage so does anyone have a clue what I should look for??

glitching is usually a result of a metal to metal intermittent connection. This can cause all kinds of ruckus if something is loose and rattling. The vibration of two metal parts throws RF interfearance all over the spectrum.

Other things to check are tight linkages (get a ball link reamer) and chafed wires, maybe a bad gear in a servo.

Dont' give up. glitches are the hardest thing to find, and can be very frustrating.

As I had it on the bench I was checking to see if the throttle or pitch servo's where sticking or catching on anything and I noticed that about mid stick on the throttle, the pitch servo realy jumps and becomes very sensitive. Could a slight movement of my throttle (me moving without realizing it) cause it to jump a foot or so? I know that someone is going to tell me to mess with my pitch curve so if you are about to tell me that you may want to explain how :?

From the sound of it, you have a 'dirty' servo on pitch. Try to replace it with a new servo, for sure don't swap it with one on the machine... You don't want to find it doing it on roll or fore/aft cyclic!
For our information, what servos are you using?

What is a decent servo to use for pitch? All of my servos are Futaba.

good= 9202, best=9252
depending on your budget.

Do I need such a high speed servo for pitch? I'm just asking because I have no clue. I thought that they where for the tail rotor control.

it's not really for the speed as much as the torque.
the 9202 is a analog servo where the 9252 is digital.
Either will center truely each time, and hold center well, which make them great for choppers.

Thanks bud, I will try to get ahold of one or the other and see what that does.

Well it still does it. I have noticed that when I take the antenna fromt the transmitter and touch it to the boom supports of the heli, it makes the throttle and pitch go crazy. It does not do this on my other heli. This effect would cause my problem during fight but why is it happening and what do I do to stop it??? :arggg:

Have you tried swaping the crystals over in the recievers from one heli to the other.

No, I have not swapped crystals. What will that do? Do you think I have bad crystal?

It is worth a try,Is there any screws loose,You need to give it a good lookink over.

Do you have a battery voltage meter (ie. voltwatch) w/leds on your heli?

I had a brand new out of the box raptor 30v2,9chp system, assembled everything for the first time, added a voltwatch to the heli. Turned everything on for the first time and it all went nuts. I tested every componet seperatly, and found it was the new voltwatch causeing interferance. I removed the batt meter and everything has been fine since.
