I am running in my new engine and to get a smooth idle, I have to give 10 'clicks' of positive trim on the throttle. Does anyone know what this would equate to if I anted to make the same adjustment to the throttle ATV? i.e. is it a metter of putting the trim back to zero and turning down the ATV for low throttle by 10 percent to achieve a good idle without having to use the trim?
Thanks.

It's best to set your throttle end points or ATV to the end points of your throttle travel (lining up with the scribe marks on the carb barrel) then enable your thorttle restore function on the DX7 setup menu so you can go back to your trim position with a single up click on the trim - alternately you can do as you suggest but then you would have to set up a throttle kill function Progmix as Bob described (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/trex600_nitro&filename=dx7cutswitch.wmv)to stop the engine

Ah yes I see, I forgot about the throttle restore function.
So, if I did want to go the Kill Switch route, do you happen to know how a given amount of trim would relate to the ATV? I guess in this scenario I would just have to get the engine running and adjust the ATV to achieve a good idle?
Thanks.

In fact, I just kind of found the answer to my question. If I go in the throttle curve page, I can see how the output of the throttle channel value is changed by adjusting the throttle trim. As it turns out, 12 trim clicks = about 8 percent on the throttle curve so I have just adjusted my low throttle point to 8 and trim to zero and then programmed the kill switch.
Does that all sound ok?
