Hi there

Ive been flying my Blade400 for 4 months now and I started with-55 / -55 / -85 swash mix but over the weeks ive been heading towards the factory standard of -75 / -75 /-85 now im there and starting to fly idle-up the standard swash mix just doesnt seem to give the cyclic response im expecting?? There just doesnt seem to be enough throw to get it up side down with any conviction?

So my real question is I guess what sort of swash movement should I be getting with -75 / -75.....? Or are guys flying 3D using a more extreme swash setting?

Cheers

At the default settings you should notice you are able to or get very close to binding with full pitch and full aileron, so you cant really go any harder.

Check what the actual pitch is you are getting, at thos settings you 'should' be getting around +/-10 or 11 degrees. If not, then that is your problem. I have also heard that the stock woodies will flex a bit when you try 3D and not give the crisp response required, Carbon Fibre blades are recommended for flipping around.

Hi there

Thanks for the reply.......ive tried using Align CF blades and some Fibre-glass blades with little improvement. Im getting 10.5+ and 11- pitch so pretty close. Ive managed to turn the swash mix up to -77% before it starts binding all this has improved matters but still nowhere near what im seeing on various video clips. Maybe im doing something wrong?

Have you increased your throttle curve for a higher headspeed?

Also, make sure your Dual Rates are at 100% and what about adding dampening shims to stiffen the head?
I've noticed that from the factory people are getting between 2-4 shims. Maybe you only have two per side and that makes for a pretty mushy response.

Just some more thoughts.
