Just curios i order the FMA 10S charger combo power pack with 2 tp-pq adapter for the 8S battery if you have received your charger what do you think of the craftsmanship?

I have several I have been using to charge FP 8S and 10S packs. It is a great charger. I make my own balance adapters from the 6 pin CP leads and FP test leads, or balance leads.
The wiring for 8S is really different.
CP plug one uses 1,2,3,4,6 to FP plug one 1,2,3,4. CP plug two 1 to FP plug one 4 and FP plug two 2. CP plug two 2,3,4,6 to FP plug two 3,4,5,6.

I was out to FMA Direct twice this week. I can tell you they have a bunch of Cellpro 10s chargers going out every day. Mine is expected to ship tomorrow (Friday, April, 24, 2008).

Still waiting for mine and I placed a pre-order at the show in Toledo. Sent an e-mail to them on Monday(I think) and was told that the pre-orders from the show would be shipping first and since I had sent them an e-mail I would recieve UPS tracking number when it did ship. Just have to wait and see I guess:mad:

Sent another e-mail today...got an answer but won't go into it:mad: Unit did ship today as I did get an e-mail from UPS that it is scheduled for delivery NEXT TUESDAY!!!
Funny how they said shipment to be made the week of the 14th and it took 11 days before it finally shipped...and now another 4 days till it arrives.:arggg:
No more "pre-orders" for me!!!

I have the 6S and the 10S. If there would be one improvement I can think of then I like to see the mode / start- stop switch on the top of the charger not on the side. Also the 10A max. charge rate could be higher for dual charging of larger packes or A123 cells. Other than that it is a great charger for the money and make sure you get the USB cable/ software it is really nice to use the charger with the laptop.

I ordered the combo with everything but the power supply...will get that at a place locally that was at the show in Toledo. Am kinda excited about getting it even if it take longer than expected!:P

I received my 10S, and being new to heli's, was surprised to learn the 10S requires a power supply (as opposed to being able to plug into the wall). Frankly, I'm not too keen on dropping another $130 to get the FMA power supply. On the other hand, I didn't spend nearly $200 on a charger to mess it up. What is everybody else using for a power supply? Thanks.

What is everybody else using for a power supply? Thanks.
There are a couple of on line hobby stores that are carrying power supply's. For max performance you need 28amps 12-13 volts. Check some of the threads for computer power supply conversions. If you got the PC link you can set up your charger to run off lower amp supply's but it will take longer to charge your batteries. Also you can run it off a deep cell battery like for a boat.:smokin:

I have been running mine off of 15.75 volts and it will charge an 5350 8S battery at 9.5 amps continuous.

Are you utilizing a balancer with the charger and if so which one?

It's built in and runs 1 amp per channel.

Finnally got to pick mine up from where I had it delivered ( I live in a secure apartment). Nice unit! Also went and got a Alinco Power Supply for it today! Just one question...how do you know witch firm ware version is in it??

not totally sure, but I think it's like it's predecessor the cellpro 4s and when you turn it on, the first screen you see displays the firmware version.

I went with an Alinco DM330MVT. I'll let ya' know how I like it as soon as I use it!:smokin:
