Sad way to end a great day of flying. The first, but not the last... for either. At least I now have a way to record them and some decent vids to review too.

It depends how severely you bent your flybar. If its only slightly bent and can be easliy straightened so it will roll evenly on a flat surface, I reuse it. If it's FUBAR like a pretzel, then replacement is the only option. The purist with deeper pockets will likely tell you to replace it no matter what, but the amount of torque placed on the flybar is much less than the shear strength and it won't break. The biggest problem is getting it straight enough for proper balancing. I fly with a "reconditoned" flybar with no problems!

Cost wise mine is not too bad $26.44 (sh $30.93) with one item on BO at HH, the feathering shaft. Hopefully I will not have to order anything though. I recall seeing many of the parts I need when I was in my LHS today getting another battery. I picked up an extra set of main and tail blades today so I really do not need much. I'm going to try to be the first one in the door just incase someone else was enjoying the great day today.

Cool, thanks Doc. If you can't trust your doctor... I was almost able to fix it with one hand, and I think it would be ok. But it is only $4. Will have to see when I get there.
Sorry to hear you are grounded Lock.

Docs probably right but I wouldn't take the chance even though i wouldn't know if it effected how the heli reacted if the flybar was slightly bent . So anything that's questionable I would change if I had the extra money IMO

No, I am saying I stripped the nylon gears in the ds285's and the metal replacements will arrive next wednesday
