this software will even launch with fms and you just need a normal audio extension cord to plug into the back of your transmitter and the mic input on your computer

Any electronics store should have a 3.5mm audio cable. Make sure both ends are male ends.

ok, got the thing working GREAT with fms
now.... for helisim.... what the crap
i have downloaded ppjoy, but it pp's on all my joy! (sorry for the lame joke, but seriously)
i followed the instructions on propo's site to no avial
could someone give me a clean slate to work with here?
what do i need to do to get helisim to work with a cx2 lp5dsm transmitter?
EDIT: everything is working the way it is supposed to---got it working with helisim
but i still experience some weird throttle things when i roll left (guess it is just part of the coax. programming in the controller ...

Sorry for resurecting this post, but I have tried to get my CX2 transmitter to work with either FMS or HeliSim....
I purchased two 3.5mm male stero plugs. I have the tip of one wired to the base of the other, and vice versa... the ring is not connected to anything.
I have one end plugged into the transmitter and the other end pluged into my mic port on my laptop.
I've downloaded PropoPlus (both versions... the one from FMS and the standard one), FMS, and HeliSim
I "believe" that I have PropoPlus working correctly, but I can't get FMS or Helisim to recognize any actions from my transmitter... any ideas?

Is your controller recognized in Propo or PPJoy? Also I'm not sure about your cable configuration, from what I've read the line should go ring to ring and base to base:

Yes, my controller is recognized by PropoPlus. I am not using PPJoy (from everything I have read, I don't need PPJoy... is this correct?)
I've read many threads that the LP5DSM actually requires a STEREO plug, not a MONO plug as the link you provided suggests. Maybe a need a STEREO plug in my LP5DSM and a MONO plug in my MIC port on my laptop?

Unfortunately I can't tell you becuase I just got my CX2 earlier this week and have been reading up trying to find a way to get the Tx to work. One thing I've noticed is that is you read in 10 different places you seem to get at least 8 different answers :arggg:
I actually just got back home from Radio Shack, picked up some cables to try this myself, I will report what I find.
Otherwise though I would say if Propo recognizes your Tx then your cable should be working properly. It sounds like the issue is strictly with the configuration for FMS, which I haven't used yet either.

Ok no success on my part. Also be warned that it appears if you try a mono plug it will short the connection between the battery and the trainer port, possibly damaging your batteries and/or Tx.
Still trying to find a way to make this work..
