I'm just ashamed to admit I'll be 39 cause Ian is like 70 or something and looks like he's 21.

They are awesome, just being able to turn 1/16th to get the tracking spot on is so cool.

I MISS MY HELI :bawl

Oh, the humanity!

After weeks of high wind, it's now perfect flying weather outside - just damn perfect. And wouldn't you know it, I have nothing airworthy in the hangar.

The King II had a flybar case - a new one, mind you - spontaneously fail in slow forward flight, causing one blade to violently flap up, destroying a DS285 digital servo, and smashing the helicopter to the ground with swashplate locked solid at full deflection. I'm done with that plastic Belt CP head now. Read... my... lips... No new EK1-0518 sets. :arggg:

The Belt CP / T-Rex rebuild would be flyable in an hour, but I can't make the Esky motor shaft reach the main gear on an SE V2 carbon frame.

The CP2 is having electronics issues. The gyro completely lets go at random intervals, so I'd just save time if I threw it into the ground manually without spooling up.

Even the Lama seems to have a fresh bend somewhere, and it's the one bird I don't regularly stock spares for.

The Mustang foamie was honorably retired after some friends helped me hand launch it - twice straight up into a stall, once directly into the ground.

The Zero build is missing a servo after I used them up on a P40 that's not ready to fly either.

With the kind of crash record we have here, I'm afraid to even start tuning in the HDX450... Guess I'll have to bite the bullet, though. At least I have plenty of spares.

Tough one Mika

As I've shared with Mike I did my first inverted flying today!!!!!!

The bolt fell out of the end of the feathering shaft firing the blades across the field in opposite directions one flying within 10 feet of my head

the heli turned upside dowm and fell to the ground:oops:

Iv'e just driven 80 miles getting replacement parts.......
so pleased to have save the postage:lol:

It seems to my that I am the only one with an intact heli and I am still only in the hovering stage.
Now I have often a camera filming my mistakes ( because in the heat of the moment I don't see what I did wrong) but perhaps you guy's need to do the same thing. (even if it is only to make others laugh with your bad luck) :clappp :clappp :clappp

Now that must have looked impressive

Sorry to hear that Gravity Week is continuing for you too... But hey, look at the bright side - for once, no pilot errors.

Yeah but this pilot was also the chief engineer and he should be sacked:YeaBaby:

Got off very lightly though.... 1 maingear and a new set of dampers, oh and a feathering shaft spacer, blades ok featherning shaft ok mainshaft ok, canopy and frame ok.

Tail boom slightly bent but that was on borrowed time from a boom strike 2 months ago.

All the best everyone:hug:

How was your flying today, Erwin?

Emptied 3 batts (laudry was removed) and still calibrating and getting used to the new way of flying with the new tx (no tray) and cnc head/tail but did a hover of 3 MIN :clappp
Now the batts are charged and ready to go on Sunday weather permitting

Am in a quandry. Want to fly bird, but she needs a new boom [ after a few over-zealous landings earlier, with poor technique - am better now though], have to fit CNC tail, need to calibrate the HH gyro, then I get the DX6i, prob tuesday. So all my setup during tomorrows 4 or so batts will be in vain.....it never stops!!!!!!!!!!!

:arggg::confused::arggg:

Hows your 45/90 degree hovering?
