I am still lucky I can get my bird off the ground and back without any mishaps, so don't ask my how my 45/90 are, I am glad to lift-off and get down in a decent way without cost.
I just realize I am a MECH not a PILOT :happyd

Maybe I should stop thinking like a pilot. Actually, the amount of time I will have had off work before my first flight back, I will probably already have done!!!!!!!!!
LOL

Dear Mike
Not too many days and your cast will be off. to fly at all with it on is an amazing feat.
It's not true that it never ends, sure youll always be fixing and maintaining it but just a few perfect flights make all the effort worth while.
Before the blades flew off this morning the sight and sound of my heli speeding past a low level then climbing and banking away making that amazing sound.....
leaves you breeathless, It's worth the days messing around just for that one battery
These little heli's really are something when youv'e got them set up right:glasses2:
:cheers

I agree Ian. Despite all the lows of a busted bird, it is still a great thrill and wonder when after hours of patience, she gets in the air again and flies well. Have to say that my setting up skills are getting better and better, just feel I have been unlucky to a degree, with what has happened. I can get to a state wher i can leave the cyclic stick alone, hands off, and watch what happens. It is getting less and less now. Just wish i could move on from hovering. Patience again................

Need to fix it then..... pEsky sim box works ok and cost's very little if you've got a problem with it!
I Know sims are boring but they get your reflexes working properly and give you confidence when you fly your heli.:)
Of course your a pilot:thumbup:

Yep, that time again. After my CNC head unceremoniously had a bolt failure, need new head. On the bright side, had the failure happened further up, could have been far more expensive!!!!!!!! Shame the Wx is so good too.

2 seconds actually Ian. Didn't know what the tail was gonna do, cos I don't know whether I have the correct gyro settings on the gyro and on the DX6i. Just wanted to get it up, see what the tail did , then down again. There is significantly more head speed prior to unstick, and I have good blade angle range: an easy 11degrees full power, either way. No worries about the servos range. Wish I could set up the tail though. Have taken easy option and ordered a new head - not all thankfully. Am interested in the Xheli head, and also Helidirect do a HDX Trex head for $115. Look the same though. The Xheli looks the best option, and I also might get an EXI next time I go to USA

Yeah sorry read it again just after I'd posted.
Glad your sticking with it, when you get A Trex type head things will be easier.
Cant help you with setting the gyro gain As I only have the rate gyro. did you understand the bit I posted about how the Gyro / Flight mode function works on the DX6i?
Grant's Exi looked brilliant, though the frame has bent every time he's crashed it, still you can straighten them out

Even so for 99 bucks its pocket change to buy the 2 side fiber plates from the Trex450 to replace it with if you wanted too :)
Nothing bent on mine yet... believe his crashes musta been really hard and nose first every time for it to bend like that.

yer i had some pretty hard crashes with mine, and yes nose first a few times!
They are still good, but i think after straightening them 4 times i may aswell go for the carbon frames and some flexi gorrila gear next time!
I cant fault the EXI though.
