It looks great. Question: The V-Bar kit that comes with the heli does not include the optional pressure sensor.

Is the pressure sensor something that is a big improvement? Is it something I should consider? Where can you buy it?

Thanks in advance!

From reading the instructions I got the impression that you could use the "extended" mode and not use the pressure sensor. Are you saying it's obsolete technology? The extended mode is just as good or better?

Hey Billy, I heard there is a recall on Vbar electronics and head. I'm going to have to ask that you send your items to my address for evaluation to determin whether or not it is safe to operate.:)

Congrats man. Hopefully summer for V-bar'ng mine

LOL. Like the old saying goes, I was born at night but not last night!

Thanks Big Fil, I should have her together in about a week. I am still waiting on some parts that probably won't get here until next Wednesday or thereabouts....

yeah its old tech, you can still get them for really really really FFF. Extended mode does the same job, but classic still works awesome

They modified the algorithm a while ago so if you fly in extended mode the clever maths does a similar job of preventing pitch changes in FFF - the wiki says it might still be useful in "violent" termination of FFF but for all intents and purposes it seems obsolete.

I got my setup too about 2 weeks ago and have been scouring the forums prior to taking the plunge :) I got the old 'yoke' swashplate driver in my kit but may use that for a while just for fun although the new one seems a better design !

Well it was all going so well and as I was installing the one way hub to the main gear, I realized that one of the screws in the kit (m3x8 flat head) had no threads!! I guess it snuck by the thread rolling process. It looks like a rivet, lol. Grrrrr. Now I have to wait until the replacement arrives before I can finish the build. Ugh.

Great German engineering is trumped by bad QC.

I also managed to semi-strip one of the m2.5 lock nuts, it was holding but barely, so I will order a replacement for that also.

Would it kill Mikado to add a spare hardware bag to the kit? For $1100 with no motor and esc included, it seems like a small request. How much could it add to the cost? Another $10? I think people that are buying these kits would gladly pay a little more for the insurance. With all these hardware bits, it's my guess that more times than not people will need to replace at least one of them during the build. Either through mistake on their part or Mikado's part.

Come on guys! No spares at all? That's kind of cheap. What if you miscount? Or a bad piece of hardware gets in the kit? All the QC in the world can't stop that from happening.

Agree there should be some spares. That being said though when I had begun the hobby after a build or two of different brands I decided to make my best purchase which was around 40-50 Bucks of bolts, nuts etc from www.microfasteners.com (http://www.microfasteners.com) or Mcarr etc and get yourself a nice little assortment for future. If you are going to be in hobby for awhile its a no brainer to carry spares of any size and kind for any heli regardless of brand. As you go on you will find other kits of other brands as well that will have defective or missing parts and bolts etc.....

Billy I feel what you are saying. When building my kit I was shorted a whole bag #9. The one with all the links. I was bummed out on it but a call to the dealer I bought it from had a new bag on my doorstep in 4 days from the distributor. I would contact the dealer and let them know and if they do the right thing, it'll be taken care of. It still sucks and yeah I think the guy working in the kitting part of the assembly line could be doing a better job and a spare parts bag would be nice. Anyway just want to let you know that once you get past this minor set back in the build you will probably forget this even happened cuz it does fly that sweet.

I've got a fair amount of hardware on the shelf, but I don't have any m3x8 flat heads. It's always the part you don't have in stock that gives you the problem, lol.

PS. OICU812, You're a Mikado rep right? I should mention that the instructions still have a small error regarding the attachment of the tail boom braces to the main frame. The correct hardware is in the kit, but the instructions call out the wrong items (finless mentions this in his video). It took me a few minutes to figure it out, so not a huge problem, but thought you might like to know.

Yup aware of that one, there have been more than a few mistakes in the manuals for sure. All have been forwarded to Mikado through several people and as the new manuals come out those mistakes are generally handled in the process for sure. It does take awhile though as they make runs of hundreds of manuals at a time =.
