Hi guys well as you know I'm taking it slow and easy on my learning curve, but have hit a small problem  i must say after reading Wolfs post about his heli going left and back wards (Hard Landing = problems) i thought i might get an answer to my problem, as at first i was thinking it was just because I'm a newb

my problem was as soon as i got the heli to lift of for my hover it would start to come back and to the left, about 8 on a clock and i didn't seem to be able to get it back, so with limited space where i have been practising, i have to land it immediately :YeaBaby: i thought it was just my lousy skills at first, but after reading Wolfs problem i started to wonder if it was me, as I'm fine on the sim?

at first people thought Wolfs problem might be a servo or the swash, well i checked mine the best i could just looking and all looked cool, now already having my new 65's and 9257 servos ready to go and my confidence in being able to hover strong, i thought it was time to head to the oval and see if it was just me or if there was something out in the heli setup

well with plenty of room i took off and as it started to drift back i didn't have to land it instantly (unfortunately :bawl ) and tried hard to bring it back but alas it went back wards on it's usual line but picking up speed this time seeing as i hadn't landed instantly  well i cut the throttle and crash landed it the best way i could :DOH

now going back wards it it tail first, which lucky for me i had put a styro ball on the stab to lift it higher after reading a post here about this mod :glasses2: then an almighty ping as all the training gear took the brunt of the landing and proceeded to snap the plastic joiner and 4 ping pongs on sticks flew everywhere :P as i got to the heli i could hear an electrical noise so quickly disconnected the battery

hmmm damage surveillance :( hey this looks ok, blades are still all together, tail blades all cool, boom straight apart form the boom struts that seemed to have popped out of the skid holders, hey everything looks cool, check servos , oh dear here we go again, front servos all loose :DOH guess i should of expected that :P check the other 2 and they are fine  as is the tail servo, not sure what the electrical noise was i could hear so i hope that wasn't the ESC

so all up it looks like my only damage this time is the front servo and the boom supports that came out of their holders and the plastic centre of the training gear and my ego :P i must admit when i saw it land/hit the ground i thought there would be a lot more damage, but lucky for me the tail ball and the training gear saved me a lot of heartache and money, it acted like a big spring

on a bright note i too now think my heli might not have been set up right from the factory because up till this time i had only been following the Rudd way, oh well time to fit those new servos now and start the next phase of this great hobby, learning to take apart and rebuild my machine, don't worry guys i think there will be a few questions coming over the next couple of days ;)

cheers chuck
