Hello everyone,
I have a Belt CP which has a problem. The problem is, that I have rotational pitch on one main blade only. The other blade will only move slightly. I have checked the linkages to make sure there are none broken or bent, the swash is level, and have made sure that all linkages are all attached. When I received the heli, I went through the setup steps, setting the pitch and everything, cause the factory sure didn't do it. Then I took it into the backyard for it's first run-up ( wrong thing to do!!) As I powered it up, and was just getting it to the lift off stage, THE ROTWIELLER ATTACKED IT! Well, that took the main blades out and the ROT has a nasty gash on his nose. Since the attack, the problem above has arose. Something has to be broken but, I can't find it. Has anyone got an idea what maybe going on here? Any and all help would be appreciated.

THE ROTWIELLER ATTACKED IT!
:lol::lol: I'm sorry man, but you tickled my funny bone something chronic with that one. I know it's not funny but geez :lol::lol::lol: that was funny!!
Like Ber60 says check the flybar errrm feathering shaft I mean . You'll need at least one deep 5.5mm box spanner to get it out.

Thanks Ber60 and wibble for the fast response. No I haven't checked it yet because I don't have a 5.5 socket yet. I know that I checked all that I could but, just didn't see anything loose or bent that was obvious. Oh yes, everytime I fire up the CP now, the ROTTIE runs and hides!! I think he has learned his lesson maybe?:YeaBaby:
As soon as I can get a socket, I will check the feathering shaft.
Thanks Ber60 and wibble, happy flying and few crashes.

Sebell, no problem bro, just hope we can get it sorted out, it might be something else.
Don't forget that the feathering shaft is the first sacrificial part coming down from the blades. It's supposed to bend or break and thus saves you destroying something way more expensive further down the line. Buy a few spare ones whatever. Before substituting the original shaft for another, be very careful to document yourself well. You just can't change these shafts willy-nilly.

Steve,
hope the rottie is better!!!!!! I find it is always worth taking digipics as I strip the bird, so I leeast i have a reference when I assemble it. Also it might help with a prob to show us what you have got by putting a pic or two with your message. Like the boys, I think it's a bent feathering shaft, and those 5.5mm hex come in real useful!!!!!!!!
Be a stickler for setup and checking your setup too - gets you into good habits - and it makes diagnosis easier too
Cheers,
Mike

Thanks again guys, I used two pairs of small susures to get the nuts off the feathering shaft. As they taught us in the Marines ( study, over come, and adapt!!!) And guess what I found? the feathering shaft is bent 3 different directions. Just past the inboard ends of the threads, and in the middle of the shaft. The ROTTY has a darn hard NOSE!!! Well, will order the feathering shafts sometime this week, and hope to have it going again next week if that should be the only problem.
Thanks again all of you!! :noteworthy:noteworthy:noteworthy:noteworthy

sebell, just glad you got it sorted. I think that's your only problem because you covered everything else didn't you! Don't forget that the mechanical setup of the heli is crucial to comfortable flying.
btw, thanks for that Marines credo, it's what I do in general but you know how sometimes when you see a thing spelled out for you it all gets easier? :);)

My cat jumps over the gate to come and watch me lol. My cat is 14 and in the past year or so he has started to act lik ea kitten again. When my heli is turned off, if I turn the main rotor baldes with my hands he will attack tail blades lol.
When he does come in the garden though, I get someone to pick him up and hold him otherwise he might get the idea to attack it. You never know what that cat will do next. I think he is starting to loose him mind.
