Well it finally happened!

After having a lot of very successful flights on the sim I worked up the gall to do some figure 8's.
One transition from left to right turn didn't happen the same as the sim and it speared in from 20 odd foot. Tried to fight the descent but had completely lost orientation. Managed to hit the throttle hold prior to impact - broken blade, bent main shaft and tail boom, broken but repairable skid.
And made one lipo into a Taco and the other is slightly damaged.

Now the delema of which lipos to get. I am liking the Zippy-H 4000mah 25c packs.

Sorry about that! See yourself as member of the Taco team.

I bet if that pack was shrink wrapped entirely it would have not taco'd

I have over 30 cycles with no problems on my Zippy-H 3300. You can get nearly 10min with a Z20 hovering and learning them figure 8s. 4000 may not fit already difficult with a pair of 3300s

Ouch.

Yeah, you would certainly want to make sure a pack will fit before purchasing. 3200's need a shoehorn to get the canopy on.

I say the next big thing after this digiflybar will be AIRBAGS!!!!!:YeaBaby:

hey that reminds me of a old Kokam pack I have. 2 yrs ago at a indoor flight I flew my poor Trex 450 right into a brick wall! my pack looked worse then yours, i was scared to touch it acctually, I left it sit for 2 days then finally decided to put it in the vise and straighten it a little (only a little) so it would fit in my frame again, then I put it out on the driveway and charged it. I finally got the guts to test it and flew it, supprizingly i still have that pack today, i lost 2 minutes of flight time (down from 7 to 5) but power is still good and I still use it in the 450.

You have more guts than I do :)
