Whip antenna question....

Just installed a new whip antenna on my 600n. When doing a range check on the radio equipment, how far away from the heli should I be? And, should the antenna on the transmitter be extended or not? Thanks in advance:thumbup:

TX antenae should be down (assuming not 2.4G radio) I would strive for 50M at least.

I've always found the whips sensitive to being mounted to CF or metal or batteries... I just add a half inch of foam around the base. I range test 600' (off the end of the runway) with the antenna right down on PCM. They work great!

....but 100' is the minimum range with ant. down.
