Hello All,

This is my first post over here in the TT section. Basically I am helping a friend setup his Raptor 30 v2 with an OS 37 in it. He is new to helis and I have never flown a Raptor (until yesterday) as I own a 600N and a 450SE.

I have a few questions that I hope someone will help me out with:

1) Is it correct that the tail is undriven in an auto?
2) Can someone help me out with a normal throttle curve?
3) What positive and negative pitch are you guys running?
4) He is using a 401 gyro and I have never used one before but have read a lot about setting them up in rate mode and all that but i wondered if anyone could post their atv settings on their Raptor 30 v2 just to get me in the ball park.

Thanks for any help you can give,

Tom

1) yes its not driven

Everything else is available at http://www.raptortechnique.com
I'd go +-10 on the idle up though the 37 might pull 11 with efficent (carbon) blades

Doesn't surprise me. I put one in a Shuttle and it hauled around a scale body like it wasn't even there, thats a bad little engine.

1. Yes, the tail is not driven, but it autos great and stays in a straight line with a little forward speed.

2. Sorry, I run the OS32

3. I am running 10 1/2 degrees positive and negative

4. With the 401, you can just center the servo with equal travel in both directions and it works fine (flame suit on). However, if you want to set it up for rate mode, your tail pitch slider will be ~4.5mm from the tailcase.

Also, be sure you are ONLY using the limit pot on the gyro to set your servo travel. Do not use the rudder endpoints to set up the servo travel.
