Hello there guys.
Does anyone use the functions hov-thr/hov-pit? is it a good thing in anyway and how do I use them?

I used them a long time ago, not anymore. They adjust the center of the curve up or down for either the pitch (hov-pit) or throttle (hov-thr).

The concept revolved around hovering at mid-stick, thus the throttle and pitch curves could be "bent" with the dials on the radio for the desired hover. The down side is the dial was just another thing to worry about. Governors, and zero pitch at mid-stick have pretty much made these seldom used (at least in the circle of pilots I fly with).

hover and throttle pitch are adjustments are great if you hover in normal mode, as these adjustments don't work on idle up. it's really good to get in the habit of flying in idle up all the time.

That would depend on the radio. There is some radios that they work in any flight condition if they are not turned off in those conditions.
To check if they are active in idle up conditions. Put the stick at mid position and turn the knobs. If they are active, the throttle will move, and the collective will move.

Even if you hover in normal mode they are useless unless you are hovering at half stick.

They are also a nusiance if you're trying to setup your ccpm and they arent centered.
