Uhhh... maybe I'm just being dumb, but what exactly are these for?? :thinking
Do you fly with 'em on or are they just for protection while in transit?

No they really are for protection during transportation. I guess you could fly with them... but then that defeats the purpose of the paint.

Got mine in the mail today! They rock !!!
Really nice. Soft and stretchy..
Seems to be a very high quality microfleece .
A+
I want to share with everyone a little heads up I was given about using canopy covers.
I think it is important I share this as general advice.
I have a Dave Yost canopy cover for my Avant Aurora canopy that he did for me.
It's also made out of fleece.
Scott Updike pm'd me and warned me about using a cover:
Just wanted to drop you a note in case you did not know. The suede canopy covers Dave provided with his his canopies will stain the clear coat if you have fuel on it. Several of us learned this the hard way at IRCHA. So if that is your canopy you have pictured in your post I would recommend not using the cover once you start using the canopyHe said they learned this at IRCHA. Anyone who was there last year knows it was HOT!
Not sure if the heat was a factor, but I'd believe it contributed.
And the nitro fuel.
Canopy covers are a great thing.
My DYD canopy (now a collectors item) goes nowhere without its cover. (thats a $350 canopy under there). For sure I don't want it to catch an HTD,
Had I not been warned, I would have used it and probably destroyed the paint job.
Now that's for the Dave Yost cover. Not sure if this could happen with a "canopy condom" but I would hate for someone to find out the hard way, hence the reason for the heads up.
The lesson learned?
MAKE SURE you clean off all the nitro fuel and oils from the canopy with something like an alcohol solvent before you put the cover on your canopy at the end of the day.

Dood... cleaning your canopy is a great precaution.
The problem with the staining of the clearcoat is with the nitro and not the cover itself. The nitro can (on certain fabrics) leech the pigment from these fabrics. However we have tested our covers with the nitro and have not seen any pigment leeching. Now this is not to say that it cannot happen, but we haven't see it yet in the 2 seasons we have been using our covers.
So take Doods advice as a precaution. Make sure you wipe down your canopy with a little windex or rubbing alcohol BEFORE storing you canopy with a cover. If you do that you will be safe.

Also the note from Brandon says it's Suede which is a tanned leather! Fuel or no fuel tanned suede can leach out it's color in hot and humid conditions or if they get wet. These covers are not suede so I don;'t think this will be a problem.
Also yes leaving fuel on a canopy paint job cover or no cover will eventualy eat the clear coat or stain the canopy.
BNob
The Dave Yost canopy covers are not suede either. They are fleece.
Scott misspoke.

I think these covers are very cool and a very inventive Ideal, is it true that some clear coats do not have a UV protector for the paint, and that the Sun will fade it? so it seems as if its a good Ideal to cover the "cover" when not flying as well.... I went to the website and had seen one for a MA Heli with what looked like a custom stitch job...it followed the curve of the canopy which looked sexy...(love your heli's just don't LOVE your heli's)..LOL..I like the one with the Red, white and blue..If I have some custom stitch work do I only have to send you a picture of what I want on it? I am thinking of an all black cover with this on it... would that be a problem? Def. a great ideal for a product.
