komjazz,

Mind to share what you did wrong during your first setup(flight)?
I don't have the sk360 yet, but really want to get to flybarless so more tips and advices will be perfect.
Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hi Kevin,

I suppose you have a MSH Protos setup with the sk360?? If yes, would you mind to show the pics and tell us how you did the mod, and also the setup of it. I'm slowly building my Protos and really interested with the flybarless setup. Pls tell how you feel comparing the traditional flybar and this flybarless system.
Thanks a lot for any advice/tip i can get.

regards,

I don't have it all converted yet, but will share pictures when I'm done.

What year will that be??? ;)

I bet I use it first on my Compass model before you do on the Protos ;)

Is that a bet? You know I can do it in one night if I wanted to. But tonight I got to rebuild someone else's 90.;)

Only because you want to fly that 90 more than anything :)

It's a BET!

This system sounds like it needs more work before it becomes mainstream....

That said, I saw my friend fly his SK-360 last week and it was beautiful! :)

The unit is just fine like it sets! Helicopter manufacturers need to come out with kits for flybarless conversions!

You really wouldn't believe how easy it is to set up this unit, IMHO if you set up CCPM, you can set this up.

Bry, Think you are missing it.

There is no more linkages and arms to mess with like in the traditional system. The finless Trex450 head setup video would be reduced to 1 meg as far as the mechanical side goes.

- set swash and collective stick at zero pitch position and ensure its level and both blades have zer degree angle
- move collective to 100% position
- adjust pitch mix to achieve desired blade angle at 100%
- move collective to -100% and check that angle is approx the same as at +100%
- Put collective back to 0 and set up elevator and aileron in the same fashion adjusting the mix for 10 degrees plus and minus for each. (ensure the mix is 60% or below for these)

The mechanical setup is very quick
NOW, the tunning, that, may be a different issue. So far my 500 worked fine box stock 3D setup. My Trex450 required a bit of tunning. Am converting my 550 now and will see how it goes. I am sure for hard 3D flyers there is a lot of tuning that can and may need to be done but for sport flying it works well out of the box.

Will you shoot a footage of the test or any breath taking 3D? I can put that on my site I hope

I can try to take some videos, but breath taking? Highly impossible :)

Very interesting topic:)
However...What i dont get right now is how does that flybarless-thing actually work ?
How does that little device makes the blades go roll and nick ?

AVS13, the flybar works as a mechanical gyro, it is intended to defect the undesirable cyclic movement so two HH gyros will do the same thing if properly set up so this unit has two HH gyro installed in it.

quick question about the sk360, converting my 500 and got everything working and adjusting properly, my only question is when in setup mode and I move cylcic with tx the cyclic servos move fast like normal, but when I am in flight mode and I initialize everything up and move cyclic all movements in right way except it seems really slow movement not near as fast as when i move them in setup mode is this normal.

That is normal in flight mode

Well today I put the first 11 flights on my newly converted trex 500 with the sk360 flybarless system and the vstabi head for the 500 from mikado. I was really nervous and made sure everthing, was right before trying to take off the first time. I had a really tough time with pitch setup but finally got it right. The first flight my control rates were only at 180 but it flew awesome didn't have to change one thing. next flight cranked up the control rates to 285 and that thing flew like a bat of of hell. Totally awesome system will never go back, and it looks awesome too
