I've been having problems with my Rx lately, i don't have to push my heli hard at all. i can just sit there and hover for sometimes 5 minutes or sometimes 2 minutes, and then it will just fall out of the sky, no power??!! so i've been reading in tons of forums that spectrum knows of this problem, and a firmware upgrade should solve the problem. so i sent the Rx to them(shipping at my cost), and bought a new ar6100 v1.6, same thing happens, the only difference is the Rx flashes now when it fails:shock:, i don't get it. can anyone help me?
This is my equipment:
-HDX fse 450
-Sonix 3500kv motor
-Castle Creations, Thunderbird 36 ESC
-Hitec HS65 MG x3 cyclic servos
-Hitec HG-5000 Gyro w/ HS-5083 rudder servo
-DX7 Tx w/ ar6100 v1.6 Rx
-Flight Power 2170 Battery

i think it would be better if u check your motor bullet connector's connection 1st. Coz i was like that previously. i thought it was spektrum fault at 1st. coz it just drop out of the sky the way it like, there was once when i just flipped over inverted hold, where it crash right down. then i check servo connection tab, everything, turn out one of the motor wire which is factory soldered has came off.

na, checked all wires. im pretty sure the Rx is going into fail safe mode, i think because of low voltage, not sure why though.

"Who's Zed?"
"Zed's dead, baby. Zed's dead."

Sorry, couldn't resist.:)

The only accurate way to rule out the speedo (or bad bec) is to hook it up to a dvm, preferably under load. Kinda tough to do with a helicopter. What makes you think it's the esc?

ESC could be overheating and dropping out.
