View Full Version : Main frame bottomless?

Another silly question. The Logo 500 manual shows the mainframe of the heli with a closed bottom. However, my main frame's bottom is mostly open, although it looks like there could be a piece that gets inserted there to close it off. Is my kit missing a piece or does the mainframe have an open bottom now?
I ask because the manual suggests putting the rx battery on the bottom, and there's nothing but air to attach it to at that spot.

It's open and that is perfectly normal.

That's how I placed my receiver Lipo on the Bottom! (just as an example, removed the second velcro for better visibility!)

That's how I fitted my rx lipo too.

Just a quick "heads-up"...
If you're using the nylon bolts to hold your landing gear on, that is a really bad place to put the RX battery. In the event of a hard landing the skids will come off and expose your lipo...it's up to you though.

Thank guys, that's what I figured. It does look like you could make a flat plastic piece and clip it in, so I was worried that a part was missing.
I should get the last few parts to finish off the assembly tonight. Hope to post some pics by the weekend.
Are there any sources for airbrushed canopies? My airbrush skills are really bad. And they're not going to get any better. Hopefully there are some people out there doing this for the Logo 500s. For now I have just the stock decals on the canopy.

Wow looks awesome. Anybody doing this in the USA? I don't speak german, looks like it might be difficult for me to communicate with those guys. I translated their webpage and it says priced on request, but I don't see a link to place a request.

Here's a couple in The States;

Or you could just go get a spray can from Wal Mart and do a basic one yourself! Remember to use something like Krylon Fusion for plastic if you have the plastic canopy.

Ask around your LHS and see if there is anyone that will does painting. Alot of times there are local auto body repair guys that will do them as side jobs.
