I'm still kind of unclear on what this actually does. People have talked about a 'brake', but what does it actually do? How does the ESC operate differently from 'beep, beep, beep' and 'beepbeep, beepbeep, beepbeep'?

Without the brake, the motor will freewheel without throttle. With the brake enabled, the ESC will actively resist rotation. It's mainly useful on gliders with folding propellers, and has absolutely no value at all on a helicopter.

Erwin, not wishing to appear even duller than i usually am in these matters, but I now get "beep-beep,beep-beep,beep-beep". What mode am I in, motor brake off?
