I'm looking to run a 611 without the remote gain wire connected. It would seem that this is possible, but I can't seem to get either of my 611's to make it happen.

Here's the settings that I have:

G37N5.1V
GDir NOR
G:1N 37% (I cannot get G:1A nor G:2x to display)
NCGA/B 130% (also always in N mode)
DlIA/B 0%
DlDA/B 0%
Trk +0%
Mode AVC
FMod 3D
AVS 100%
LmtA/B 115%

The manual seems to indicate that it should be possible -- and that there are two points (G:1 & G:2) possible to set in either A (AVCS mode) or N (Normal mode). Changing the Mode from AVC to CMT or NOR doesn't seem to change anything.

Any help getting this running (without the remote gain) would be fantastic!

Thanks!!

i don't think that's going to be possible. there is no manual adjustment, no potentiometer (sp?) that is adjustable with a knob. how else could you adjust gain? either manually turning the gain pot (like on the gy240) or using ch#5 (if your futaba).
can i ask why you wouldn't want to be able to remote adjust?

Yes the GY 611 can be used without the other lead connected. You will have to make all the adjustments in the gyro menu on the gyro brain box.
You will need to scroll thru the Menu.
You will need to put it in AVS mode if that is the mode your going to use. Not Nor or CMT.
Then you go to the gain sensitivity menu and manually adjust the gain to what you want it to be.
All the adjustments you want to make will be made in the menu on the gyro.
Futaba designed this gyro so it would work with a basic 4 channel radio to the 14MZ.

Start at page 12 of the manual and it explains how to set the data ( settings) for sensitivity, servo travel, etc. etc.

David have you tried it? I think, and Ben Minor agrees, that it needs a signal on the gain lead to operate correctly just like the 401 does.
