Shouldn't this be in the engines and mufflers section?
I'd say Hatori #522 but that's only because I know it works well. Very subjective question and difficult to answer.

The common consensus is the align 50 pipe i run it on an OS and it makes tons of power!

The Align pipe does make good power, but it is LOUD. Almost like a growl......:clappp
The MP5 also makes good power and is alot quieter.
But I think that the Hatori is the best of both....

For the price ya cant beat the Align pipe as long as it stays together... Some folks have had issues with the baffles coming loose inside the pipe... If you bought it in the US from an Assurance dealer it will be replaced no problem if that happens...
I love mine myself....

yesterday my second align pipe fell apart.....shocking. It had about 50 flights on it...first one had about the same I would guess. No more align pipes for me, just ordered the Hatori Bobby Watts special.
I just flushed in a bottle of CA in my pipe, let it stand for 24hours , and it stil works fine after 10 flights. :)
Joke;)

I now run the Hatori 522, its the same price as the Align, powerful, quieter and well made. What more do you need?

After extensive testing all the verious mufflers, the Hatori 522 and 521 makes the best power with a reasonable noise level. The Hatori has a better power band and recovers more quickly than the MP and Align. We have had 5 Align mufflers develop loose baffles You can see that the rear baffle is only spot welded in a couple of places,we have had both the old version and new versions develop loose baffles or connector tubes.

Thanks for the pics, I love seeing the guts of things. I agree the align pipe looks cheap, but it has held up well for me. I think the align pipe is still not that loud, my .28 buggy makes more noise. But one day some guy had a muscle pipe and I was wow, why is that so quiet? So I didn't even know they could be that quiet.
