Hi all, please forgive me for asking what has probably already been asked but as a new B400 owner I could do with a shove in the right direction. Whilst not entirely new to flying helis (fixed pitch Walkera) I am struggling to understand the setup of the DX6i and Blade 400. I have read the instruction manual that accompanies the DX6i but it is clearly aimed at pilots who already have a moderate understanding of Tx's and CP helis. I guess what I am asking for is a DX6i for dummies lesson, you know like this switch does this & this and this how (and why) you adjust it. As an example, binding is explained in the manual but not if the servos and receiver are installed in the heli. I know there is probably 10 000 years of collective knowledge within this forum but a lot of it pertains to Tx's that are similar to DX6i's or gyros that are much the same as the one on the Blade, but from a newbie's point of view it has to be the same Tx or the same gyro, I am just not confident to read between the lines. Any assistance humbly appreciated.

cheers and beers

Harry

Yea, the DX6i manual that comes with the B400 didn't help alot when I wanted to rebind the Rx. In our situation, the bind plug would go into the last open slot on the left.

power Tx/Rx off -> insert bind plug -> power on Rx -> power on Tx while holding the trainer/bind switch -> watch the LED on the Rx to do it's thing. (next step is what threw me off) -> Once the Rx has been bound, disconnect Bind plug, THEN power down Rx. -> Power everything back up (Tx first, as normal) and test.

Hi Chago, many thanks for your reply. Since I posted this thread I have found a dedicated B400 section within Heli Freak.

Finless has his own section of videos, which I'm not sure about the 400 specifically. Sokal has done his own videos in the Blade 400 thread as well.

Yeah thanks Skyhawk I checked out Sokal's vids and while I can see he has gone to considerable effort, some questions still remain. The one that's got me frustrated at the moment is the gyro setting feature, currently it displays SW-GYRO (SW stands for switch?) and two rate values 0 : 66% and 1 : 64% I assume these are two selectable values accessed by the GYRO/FLAP switch. Now here's where it gets really confusing, if I highlight GYRO and toggle through I can select F MODE (hopefully that stands for Flight Mode) or INH. If I settle on F MODE (which incorporates Normal and Stunt modes) the GYRO/FLAP switch no longer works which means I now have only one rate for normal flight and one for stunt, but isn't SW-GYRO normal flight as well, so what's the go there? Also the numbers beside either Normal or Stunt ( 0 & 1) can be edited, what's the purpose of those numbers? And lastly, INH, what does INH stand for, nowhere can I find a definition? Sorry that it's a bit of essay.

cheers

INH = Inhibit

F. MODE is for flight mode and is controlled by your idle up switch (flight mode switch). I'm not too familiar with a DX6i, but on most controllers it's the leftmost switch on top of your radio.

Fantastic thanks for that, OK well that's got that out the way. Regarding the Gyro adjustment feature what's the difference between SW-GYRO and SW-F MODE NORM ?

SW-Gyro switches settings based upon the Gyro (aka Gear ) D/R switch. SW-F ties the Gyro to the Flight Mode switch- meaning that it changes on whether or not you are using IDLE UP.
