Hi,
I will be getting a E325 this weekend and I am wandering:
1. Are some of you using your BLC-40 in governor mode? if yes. how does it go?
2. about stock motor and ESC. Would you still buy your E325 with stock or would you buy separate and go with a little more power?
your thaughts,
and many thanks :noteworthy

The stock motor and ESC had plenty of power for my mild flying / learning.
If I had to do it over again I would go for the bare kit from Thunder Tiger 4U. I would then add a Just Go Fly or Scorpion motor and a Castle Creations ESC.
The stock motor and ESC got way too hot doing hovering practice in mild, for South Florida, weather. The windings in the motor on mine approached 200 degrees at times. The ESC was 150 or 160 degrees, if I am remembering correctly.

Anyone using the governor mode on the ECS?

Not here when I was using the stock ESC. I now use a Castle Creations Phoenix 35 with a Just Go Fly 500TH motor.
I do not remember if the CC 35 has a governor so obviously I am not using it now either.

I am using the stock ACE ESC in gov mode and it works like a dream, even in our hot climate, NO overheating and it hold rpm very well, WAY better than a CC 85 HV I threw away on my E550. (using the stock ACE now). Stock motor snd gearing with 85% TC works very well. Just throw away the stock wood blades and use Align or GCT (Maverick) blades.

Thank you Vinger, Excellent info. I was looking at cheap chinese ESC but could not find one with Governor mode and I am interested in trying it.

just today finally got my bird flying for the first time. ok well still waiting my real gyro+server (darn slow post...). i have that stock ESC and motor that comes with MT kit.. motor runs a bit hot but has really enough power, don't worry about that :)
next week i should get my new lipos and blades, let's see how temp drops then.
but anyways, adjust head correctly and it flies like so nicely. i love it already :thumbup:

OK,
Thanks for all the answers,
I finally got it with stock motor and ESC. I will start the build this week and let you know how it goes. Also, alot of pilots at my LHS use governor mode and they say that TT is way better than the one from Align which nobody seems to be using. I will also give this a trial.

I don't use gov mode, i tried it on the E550 and the headspeed must be higher or the tail kicks a little, also when you back off the thr after a climbout you hear the motor speed pulsing up and down.
I use on all my helis in non gov mode and a curve of: Nor mode 0/70/80/90/100 Idle 1: 100/inh/80/inh/100 Idle 2 100/inh/85/inh/100

Like I said in my previous post. Seem like Align and Ace Governor mode are way different. The tail wag is only present with the Align ESC (I was Told ). I am almost done with the build. This little heli is impressive. The build went VERY well. The parts fits perfectly compare to my first build I give it a 9.5. I cant wait to fly.
Thanks for the replies,
