I have a JR 9303 and use a YS 50 with a CY governor. Last weekend I just bought a new engine and went through 3 tanks with the governor off. I turned the governor on and flew 2 or 3 more tanks in idle up with no probs. I went to fly yesterday and every once in awhile i had some overspeeding around mid stick which i was shocked since i know the governor is turned on and working (i did the red light magnet check) I felt the engine and it was plenty cool. I deceided to richen it up two clicks then it was running too rich to get good 3d performance.
I have the CY set to the max RPM, i think they describe it as over 2000k. I really don't want to turn it down since it seems much less responsive at anything lower but i also don't want the heli to sound like it about to blow up either. Any suggestions. Should i completely reconfigure the governor like it was brand new? I know this heli can take a 2000k + headspeed, my previous YS engine did it no problem and no flutter.
I am in basic mode (sets a constant headspeed) wouldn't that mean the throttle curve would matter? Just looking for some guidance. Thanks in advance.
