I finnaly got to fly my 600n , and lets say i now understand what the hype is about.
I cant belive how good this thing flies compared to my Tz 50, the Tz will be a dustcollector from now on i think.
I did take my time setting the 600 up to be as good as i could get it, and i think i got it pretty good .
The tracking was dead on, and i didnt add one click of trim, it just sat there in a nice hover.
And the power. with a slobbering rich hyper50 it have a LOT more power than my Tz and that at about 1850 rpm.
Lets say i had a nice grin all day.
Hovered it for 1 tank, then flew another tank with some nice gentle flying, then at the 3rd tank i did start to fly it a bit harder, hehe my grin became wider :YeaBaby:
At the 4th tank i put in some ugly tictocs, some flips, inverted climbouts:shock: and a backwards loop that i chickened out of at the top.
I really think this thing will give my flying skills a boost.
Cant wait to get the engine broken in fully and hook up the carbsmart to get a taste of its real power.

My setup:
Trex 600n pro, with every metal upgrade there is from align to it(could i call it a super pro? :YeaBaby:)
Hyper 50/align pipe
2 in1 with fp evo rx 3000mah 2s2p
Align gov( worked really nice even with a very rich engine)
3x Jr 8717
1x 9252 for throttle
Gy611/9256 @33% gain
Carbsmart with hs65
Jr 10ch synth dc pcm reciver.
Jr 9xII radio with synth module
Radix main blades, align tail blades for now.
Align carbon paddles/ 440mm flybar.(omg how this thing rolls:))
Align frame braces.

Thanks to my friend PJ for the pics( peddy6 on helifreak)

Hi Yankee,

Yeah, you can't beat a 600N. Mine is such a sweet flyer. It does exactly what I tell it -- nothing more, nothing less.

Man, I can't believe your flying site. I'm in the plains here in Minnesota and never see scenery like that. How long do you have to drive to get out in the wilderness like that?

Congrats on the great flying heli!

Keep 'em flying.:YeaBaby:

Hehe, i live in between all those mountains.I drive about 5 mins to get to our flyingsite.
Our flying site looks like crap these days cause there are some activity with making a golf driving range there atm, our field is not usable for planes these days, only helis are possible to fly there atm.
If you look at a map of norway you will see a fjord that is very long, europes longest i think and deepest, its called "sognefjorden",well i live all the way in the end of that fjord in a area wich is called "jotunheimen" its pretty wild nature here with high mountains, glasiers, rivers and fjords, and i know american tourist loves this place. its kind of like your rocky mountains i think, but there you dont got the fjords , right?

Hi Yankee,

Right, no fjords, but plenty of valleys. It certainly looks beautiful.

My setup is very similar to yours -- 611, CarbSmart, and Align gov. I really like the CS/gov combination. I have so much more power than last year.

Enjoy your new heli!:YeaBaby:

I wanted to comment on your flying site aswell. AWESOME!! Hey does the heli like," echo " forever there or what? Congrats on your new machine.

Neh the sound of the heli dosent echo to much, but if someone with a harley or any other loud mc or car passes by, you can hear its echo rumbeling around, a guy with a ducati was reving his engine some today, you might say you can hear that around in the valley:smokin:

We had a grey day with bad flyingconditions today, so i shot some pics of my trex.
And a couple with my friend PJ`s 600E

Nice looking setup you have there

Thanks Finless.
I did fly 3 tanks today, and i also had a glitch or lockout or smth like that:confused:.
It was at the second tank after doing some of my bad tictocs, well what i was wondering about, was it my 2 in 1 getting hot and cut the power for a little second? i know the 8717 can draw a lot of power and in tictocs they shure get some resistance i guess.
Anyways it looked like the reciver went into failsafe for a sec or so.
Very scary, the heli dropped very fast, my failsafe setting is 0* pitch, cyclic at center and engine at idle.
The engine also dropped its revs when it happened.
Any ideas?
I am going to measure the current at the bench to see what amps its drawing while stirring the sticks. To bad if i have to drop the 2 in 1 , kind of like the ondboard glow driver.

I am running the JR 9000z which are the same servos basically and my 2in1 seems fine. However I only get 3 flights before I am down to 1 green on the 2in1 when moving the servos around and have to recharge my 2S 2000ma lipo. So for sure you should make sure your keeping a well charged lipo all the time.

I know some have had shut downs etc with the 2in1 and these servos. I have not myself but I am not that much of a stick banger either and make sure I don't let the lipo get too low.

Also cant tell your radio but does it have what is also called Battery Fail Safe (BFS)? If so make sure to set that up. If you are having low voltage issues what this does it warns you and drops throttle BEFORE a hard lockout but still leaves you with cyclic control. Thus you should then be able to tell if your having low battery issues or just a FM lock out.

Just my thoughts,
Bob

Well i still had all green lights when this happened, so i dont think thats the prob.
First day i flew the heli i flew 4 flights, then it was down to 1 green light, i recharged the lipo at my friend PJ`s charger to see what it took back in, it took about 1000 mah.
Hmm batfail safe you say.
I cant see any other than the failsafe settings that you can set to hold or a preprogrammed position, can be set for each channel.
But bat failsafe does ring a bell, i think that is what is on my old PCM 10 airplane radio running zpcm.
I changed the modulation on my pcm9 to zpcm, and the failsafe did change from what i have on spcm, any ways it does not have it on spcm.
My radio is very much the same as the 9303 you have in usa and your x9303.
Dont know what software is diff, but switch location and digital throttle trim on the 9xII is the diff i know of

Well thanks for the input Finless

I never had the 9303 so I don't know if it has it or not. My X9303 2.4 radio does not have any fail safe settings as Spektrum radios do that differently. You maybe having FM lock outs and might want to try and run your antenna differently as a test. Then again as some have said the 2in1 with thos servos could also be the problem. Ever thought of trying the 8V setup on those? You bypass any kind of regulator for cyclic servos.....

Hehe, i would love to run 8 volts on the cyclic servos, but since i am running pcm my reciver cant take it.
Or can i, with the spectrum reg?
I did fly another tank after checking the heli and then i had no problems, but i did fly it nice and not push it with bad tictocs and stuff like that.
I have had a look at another reg that looks good.
The SGp ReactorX
6,8 volts on cyclic 10A , 5.2 volts for the rest
I will probably go for that if i dump the 2 in 1

Just measured the current while stirring the sticks, didnt go over 3amps when i did that, i did manage to get it to draw 6 amps when i by hand gave the swash resistance and used the pitch, and i really had to give it hard resistance to draw that much, cant imagine it gets more resistance than that in flight, but who knows.
Hehe the 8717 is really strong.
Someone have a accurate reading of how much 3 x 8717`s draws in flight?

I have said those same words many times over the past few weeks . I love this thing ,I love the way it fly's.ANd It does exactly what you tell it to do when they are dialed in and flying right it is a major Blast !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:wow2::cheers
