Its here!!!

and OMG i have been asking people to post side by side pics of the esmart next to the belt cp to see the difference and every single image they posted just didnt make it seem all that much bigger.

These are the types of photo's i was asking for... and hope it also helps you see the size difference...

The Box!

The canopy alone can practically swollow the entire belt cp!!
http://i25.tinypic.com/35n92lw.jpg

The Frame... its just as tall as the belt cp canopy with skids on.
http://i26.tinypic.com/9kxfsj.jpg

The Boom Alone is Inches longer than the entire belt CP from nose to tail.
http://i27.tinypic.com/2vxoztt.jpg

In Fact a single rotor blade is just as long as the entire belt cp.

And the Esky motor eats Belt CP motors for Breakfast (WITH HOTSAUCE!!)
the motor magnets are Strong as hell you actually have to use some muscle to spin the motor over.

You're right... The other pictures I've seen just don't begin to tell the whole story. Man, that thing is huge!

Dier,

Very nice. That's just the push I needed. I looked at other pics as well and thought...huh...it doesn't look THAT much bigger.

What version did you get? What is the quality of the plastic head and tail box like? I am caught between spending the extra $200 for the all metal kit.

Thanks.

Everything looks very solid even the plastic... some people said they got a single pin washout, mine came with dual pin, the entire frame is metal, even the center sections, tail is solid and everything is housed in the boom so there is no more looping belts around pullies, pull off the tail and the entire gear unit comes off with it SWEET!!...

The head is very well constructed, dont see the need for cnc at all, at least not yet.

Here she is in all her glory, only took me a few hours with alot of coffee and cigarrete breaks.

yeah pictures are tricky, i wasnt even all that excited to open up the box, but the wife wanted to see so opened it up and first thing that pops out at you is the canopy and its HUGE and you immediately walk to your 450 and just laugh your ass off...

Here is the washout that came with mine.... others got a differnent one (my kit was the regular plastic head version... Setup was a breeze, pretty much everything is done for you other than the flybar box.. Links are all correct length just have to snap them on.

Picture of the head for you.

Other guys in the Esmart section posted pics of there head seems they got older version and bought too soon :)

Mine came with metal flybar cage while theirs were plastic with ball at the end which i know will break upon the slightest bump.. also my swash is partial metal while theirs is full plastic and i already mentioned the washout guides they got were single pin in plastic houseing while mine is full metal with 2 pins (no i didnt buy the metal version of this bird)

Seems they changed a few things in the past month or so.. So looks like i got lucky :)

Holy Crap!

Especially the perspective pic with your sis!

The head looks REALLY solid and well built. I think that, like you, I am going to go with the $199 model. It's gonna have to wait a cpl months till I get home though. Not going to fly something that big till I'm in the comfort of my huge back yard.

Next question for you....powering it? Can I use 2 3S1P 2200mAh Kong's in series? I'm totally confused cause I thought I read the one guy on here was running 2x sets of 2 for a total of 4? batteries. Just wanted to know what the power/$$$ requirements are going to be to fly that monster.

Thanks

You Home in 2 months Brian? Thats good news mate:thumbup:

yes 2 3s in series.

the other guy was using small 1800mah batteries so he put 2 sets in parrallel and then put those 2 sets in series which works out to be the same voltage just MAH..

His bird burned up the other day, one lipo took a shitter on him.

i will go the 6s route myself, dont want that crap happening to me, if any of them are not fully charged and have differnet voltage will lead to problems like he had.

Hey Wolfie, she looks sweeeeet. What electrics you using on her (servos and gyro?).

I am soo tempted with one of these, especially if I can get the metal head one for a decent price.

With regards to the batteries, isn't it 6S2P required for these? I know a guy on the 'forum with no links allowed' is running his on 2 x 3S 2100Mah in series then 2 lots of them in Parallel, so 4 2100 3S packs altogether.

DierWolf

yes thats what i am saying, thats the cheaper route to go instead of buy 6s batteries,

put 2 sets of 3s in series to get the 22volts or use 4 x 3s 2x parrallel +2x parrallel then join the 2 sets in series..

the more batteries you use the bigger chances your taking as not all of them will be discharging at the same rate if not properly balanced and can cause a fire (guy in the esmart forum already burnt his esmart up doing it that way, he says his wife might have plugged out one of his 3s's before it was completely charged)

I will go the route of 2x 3s 2200 mah 20c and also spend the money on a really good high MAH 6s just to have (i do have other helis's requiring 3s so wanna fly em all while the 6s is charging)

Servo's / Radio i am still debating on, may end up getting the Optic 6 from Futaba its a bit more expensive than
the dx6i but i really have some bad concerns on 2.4ghz here on my island..

Servo's i will go DS821's all around, if the tail needs something more i'll get it then, but many are using this setup so thats what i will go with.

i personally wouldnt go the 4x 3s route, i'd fork out the funds for a single 6s pack (thunder power 6s 4500/5000's or flight power 6s 4900 brick type) are what i would recommend.
Just 2 3s packs in series will not supplu the current that you want to draw through that motor. All 4 packs will also need to be balanced together and all of the same age ans same number of flights to be worth using. I wouldnt risk it, there is too much that can go wrong.
In the UK your looking at around £180-£190 per pack.
I have 3 for my Fighting Robot :cheers

yeah i know... thats why at the worst case i will only use 2x 3s in series (And that will be just for backup) But definately gonna get a Kong Power 6s, this bird is too sweet for anything less..

By my calculations i have another $450 bucks to spend, Radio,Gyro, ESC, Battery

so a grand total of 650 dollars with very good equipment... a VERY far cry from what the Mooks on the other site said it would cost to get her in the air.

Sounds like youve got yourself a great deal. Im seriously looking into getting a trex 600. Problem is I dont know whether to go the 600e, or 600n route. I have 3 packs already for an electric, but i if i crash and damage one i'm screwed lol.

DierWolf

Simple :) Dont crash LOL..

Easier saud than done!! Espeacially as i think that if i dont crash or get very close to atleast once a month im not pushing hard enough!

DierWolf

You just like my bro.

He crashed 5 times yesterday!!! Lucky for him i have stock of Esky parts. Very very windy 30mph + constant with higher gusts, but he insists he wants to take video of the Neighbourhood again but this time camera facing foward even after telling him dont do it.

I figured after repairing it for him the 3rd time he would give up but NOPE he finally stopped on the 5th crash... (each time Feathering Shaft and 2 Servo's) so changed out 5 feathering shafts and used up 10 servo's..

Last crash ended in a tree (crash 6) so no damages, i then proceeded to take my Exi and fly around the yard grinning :) I have a funny feeling he ordered one last night on his own ROFLMAO.

Thats the kinda guy i am, if i know its gonna lead to a crash i just dont do it.... Only time i do 3D Flying is when i'm about to crash really hard, then i just throw her up in the air and try a few things while on the way down LOLOL.
