I just got my heli back together after my first crash. when attaching the control rod to the tail i realized it wouldn't reach. i then took the new control rod from the package w/ the boom and it was about 6" too short. that is when i realized i ordered the tail boom set for electric instead of nitro. i looked up the specs and it shows that the boom is the same length for E or N....? my control rod comes up about an inch short. i think i have the torque tube seated well on both ends....the main and tail blades spin great together.
the tail booms can't be different lengths becuase the correct torque tube fits...
what did i do wrong? thanks:arggg:

The only difference in the two packages is the control rod.

that is what i have read, but why is my stock unbent control rod not reaching the tail? if i didn't have the boom pushed in all the way in either side, then the torque tube wouldn't be turning right..?

I don't think you have your boom seated all the way into the tailcase.

The torque tube will turn the tail when it is only slightly engaged. Sometimes you have to play with the boom to get it to seat all the way in the tailcase. Just keep wiggling the boom back and forth and turning the head a little and it should pop all the way in.

I mark my boom with a sharpie where it meets the tailcase so when I remove it to work on it I know how far it needs to go back in. It's easy to think the boom is properly seated (tail is turning) but it's not actually all the way in.
